    I had my lap band and gall bladder out Jan 2015, I am retired Tricare, I have 5 comorbilities and my bariactric surgeon is requesting approval for the bypass now. Does anyone know if Tricare will cover this as a 2 stage revision after the lap band is removed?

    I found out today that tricare denied the revision request they say it would qualify for revision but the Dr that took the lap band out did not show medical necessity for removal. I have ask his office to review his notes and see if they can correct or add to my reason for removal because it was a necessity... bummed I still have hope a little

    I had my band out Jan of 2015 due to constant choking. Now my bariactric surgeon is putting in a request for bypass. Does anyone know if Tricare will pay for this second surgery and consider it a revsion even though it is 2 part process?

    7 minutes ago Feeling really well, on liquid diet, do not really notice much in weight change so far. How long does it take do you have to wait for your first fill to lose weight? Any one out there just recently having had surgery?

    wow day 7 after surgery...i am having a problem eating 500 calories, and the only pain i have still is gas pain under my diaphram and my left shoulder..... have to take pain meds just to deal with the pain!!!! should i be having gas pain like this or is it something else?

    thanks to the responses, its nice to have a place to ask questions about what you are going through. So 4 days post op no exercise and i am drinking protein shakes, water pop cycles and some cottage cheese. Not any problems with these foods!

    thanks for replying, congrats on your surgery! I know it will be a while but I can drink a protien shake like normal, it does not take me 30 minutes. not exercising as of yet prob will wait a month to start any of that.
