Anyone getting banded in Nov?
KYBrownEyes replied to swankybangles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope all the new bandsters are doing well! Good luck to those having surgery soon! I had my stitches and staples out yesterday, THANK GOD! It seemed like the staples were just digging into my stomach with the slightest move. I can finally put neosporin over the incisions and some Vitamin E oil. I am finally cleared for mushies for the next 2 weeks, then solids for 2 weeks, and I go in for my first fill. Started on a protein drink today, it's the kind that comes in a big jug that you mix up yourself. I wish I could find some pre-made, I will have to look on the boards to see what others are using. Next week for Thanksgiving will be a challenge. I am going to my sister in laws on Thursday, and then my dads on Friday. I will still be on mushies, so I know I can have mashed potatoes. But I did not tell anyone about my surgery except my husband so not sure how to explain away the fact that I am only eating 2 oz of mashed potatoes LOL My weight is down from my pre-surgery weight but I really don't except major weight loss until after my first fill. -

Icy I don't think it is terrible. You do need your rest. I had big plans for reading and watching a bunch of stuff I DVRd but really I slept more than anything. Which was good. Good luck and keep us posted! -

Congrats Jas! lasal-I had my surgery on a Thursday, worked at home on Monday, and then went into the office on Tuesday. No major problems except running to the bathroom (clear liquid diet) and also some of my dress pants rubbed on my incision. Wear comfy clothes! -

Beerx & Kmb-so sorry that things are moving slowly, I hope it gets worked out for you soon! Tomorrow will be a week since I've had my surgery. I am down about 8 lbs from my pre-surgery prep weight. I can really tell that I get fuller, faster. I don't really worry about what I am going to eat right now since I'm still on a liquid diet. My stomach is still gurgling but it seems to be getting better. Some pain at the incision sites but I know these will take more time to heal. I've been back to work since Tuesday and other than being tired and a little sore I've been fine. I go back to my surgeon next Tuesday and hopefully will be cleared to move onto mushy food. Hope everyone else who has had surgery this month is doing great! -

No fluid in mine either. My stomach has been making the wierdest noises. I think it's gas, or hunger pains, or both LOL -

Yes, everything is literally running right through me! Really made the attempt to track my fluid intake today. Supposed to get 80 oz in a day! I called the dr office this morning, they said I could eat chicken noodle soup and beef vegetable soup! No cream soups though. -

Good luck Grann! Feeling pretty good today. Finally got over the running to the bathroom every 5 minutes. Slept a little better last night. I will probably go into work tomorrow. I'm working from home today. -

Still on clear liquids here. Had a bad bout of diarrhea earlier, lots of trips to the bathroom. Did get out to the store before it hit, and got some walking in. Restless night last night with sleeping. Would sleep for an hour or two, then back up. Just feel asleep sitting up on the couch with the heating pad watching tv. LOL Pain level is pretty good, mostly only feel sore when bending over. Bandista, did you get any fluid in your band? Mine is not filled at all yet, so the clear liquid diet is good for letting things heal and not having to worry about solid food just yet. The scale was down one whole pound this morning LOL I know I still have some bloating. Irish, how are you feeling? -

Good morning! Feeling pretty good stil, but I do feel really bloated. Still not hungry, but getting in my fluids and popsicles. Probably heat up some more broth today. I got some vegetable broth, thought I might mix it up with some chicken broth. Stocked up on more Jello. Going to try and be more active today, get some dishes done, etc. Haven't been sleeping for very long, a couple of hours at a time. Haven't had to use nausea meds. LOL I sorta feel like I'm rambling here (must be the drugs)...hope everyone is doing great! -

Felt pretty good most of the day today. Just got out of the shower, that felt good! Am really feeling bloated today so took another gas-x strip. All in all I feel much better than I expected, but still taking it easy! Going to the couch again and have some lap cat time while I watch more shows I DVRed. -

YAY! Finally able to log in and post! Had some issues logging in after the forum change. I am home! My surgery was scheduled for 9:30 am but due to a hospital emergency (not mine), I didn't go in until 1:30 pm! UGH Guess I could have went home and came back but I didn't want to do that, I was already changed and hooked up to iv's etc. The surgery took about an hour. I did not stay overnight. Once out of surgery I ate about 1/2 cup of italian ice (which tasted DELICIOUS!). Once I was in recovery 2 hours and went to the bathroom I was free to go! Stopped on the way home and dropped off prescriptions, pain medicine, an antibiotic, something for nausea and something for heartburn. Got home, went to bed and hubby went back and picked up meds for me. I am on a clear diet for 2 weeks. I go back to surgeon on Tuesday for a check. I feel better than I thought I would. I get spurts of energy, then get tired. I have not been hungry but very thirsty, so drinking Water and apple juice. I may try some chicken broth later today. Tummy is sore, as to be expected. I have been sleeping on and off. Irish, how are you doing!? So glad the surgery is over, now onto healing and getting healthy! -

My surgery is tomorrow too. The hospital called this afternoon, missing some paperwork. Called the surgeon's office they are going to take care of it and call me back by the end of the day to confirm. So hungry for a cheeseburger LOL but that is what got me here to start with. In 3 hours I will take the nasty stuff to finish cleaning me out. Almost got my bag packed. Leaving tomorrow morning at 6:45! Will post back here when I can...most likely on Friday? Or from the hospital if I can figure out how to get here from my phone! Good luck Irish! -

Day 1 of pre surgery bowel prep. Not too bad for the most part. Hoping tomorrow goes just as good, esp after I take the yukky stuff! Can't wait for Thursday! -

YAY! We are the same day! I start Clear liquids tomorrow. Are you getting nervous? I sure am. What type of things are you taking with you to the hospital? I am taking a pillow, blanket for the car ride home. For the hospital: ear plugs, chapstick, deo, extra clothes, brush, phone and phone charger. Can't wait to get updates on how everyone is doing! -

From what I have read on here, every doctor is different! And it also may depend on your BMI. -

Yes, really great idea for the hand warmers! I bet even those disposable heat pads would work too. Keep us posted how you are doing! My surger is 11/7!
