No worries. This is the right place. I have been hesitant to tell anyone, for just this reason , the only person who knows about my surgery is my husband. Had I not needed a ride home I'm not sure I would've told him. I was banded in Feb. I have absolutely no interest in what any body has to say about my journey. Family has harped on me since childhood about my weight with no concern as to how their words hurt, no matter what people thought they were saying, they were cruel . In high school I got a work out with Miss Piggy video as a Xmas gift. I haven't told my parents or siblings because I have my own expectations for myself. I only have to make myself happy (& maybe my kids & hubby). Stay strong and positive it's all about YOU

I'm on day 4 of my 5 day pre op clear liquid diet. Any suggestions on how to beat this sluggish feeling. Not feeling so well. Also, any ideas on why there are so many varieties of pre op diets? A month, a week, 5 days. Clear liquids , protein shakes, food. I do have a protein supplement totals 65g a day, very curious... Why clear liquids...

Thank you all. As far as the caffeine and sugar- bad headache for the first 2 days. Glad to be over that, I'll buy the detoxing, it explains the sluggish Feeling. One day at a time. Just have to make it to bed time. The protocol thing is just confusing

I'll be banded Tues. My story is just beginning but your story is just how I hope mine will go. I long to be invisible in a good way, with no assumptions either way. Thank you for sharing, can't wait to read the next chapter.

Started my journey in July, I was hoping to be banded in Nov... My insurance was not on board. After several hoops and months I finally have a date for Feb 11. Although exited I am anxious about the pre op & post op liquid diet. I've been on many diets and feel I can restrict myself for awhile. But 4 weeks of clear liquids only- I'm not sure I can handle. Any advice to help relive this anxiety.

Thanks for all the encouragement I'm on liquids for 5 days pre op, then CLEAR liquids only for the first month. One day at a time. Will be my new mantra. I do have a protein supplement for nutrition. I know it is a matter of brain training since it was my brain not stomach that wants the food. I like the perspective of only having to make it to bed time.
