  1. yes, linda, it is definetly worth it. I too was told by everyone that I didnt "need" it . I was weighing 214lbs and wanted to lose down to 140. I had the band put on on july 14th and I weighed 169 this morning, down 45 lbs in just a little over 3 months. i am averaging 2-3 lbs a week, seems like not much , but i am keeping my muscle tone and skin tone in good shape. I was very clever, ( and i suspect you are too) at "hiding" the extra weight. I feel soooo much better and now that the weight is coming off and you know what? its not hard, i had always weighed 130 or so and then up to 214 i went after i hit 40 . i tried every diet in the book and this is the only thing that has worked. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Please email me if you need any help or info. :cursing: Doris

    Any protein drink ideas?

Thanks for the help I received in adding more protein to my diet, I guess not getting enough protein is why i have been feeling so tired? I am going to GNC in the AM ! I also seem to be eating more and getting hungrier oftener., is that normal? I was banded a week ago today and really had no appetite until yesterday and now i almost feel as if i could eat like before. my family says i am eating hardly nothing at all , but i feel like a pig. my dr. said to eat what ever felt right after one week, just to go slow , chew chew chew and take one new food at a time. I am sooo worried that i am not going to lose any more weight until my first fill, what are some of yalls experiences with the time period before the first fill! I need some cheerleaders!!! Thanks y'all

    Any protein drink ideas?

Hi all, Tomorrow will be one week since i was banded. I have lost 6 pounds so far. I lost 10 on the two week pre-op so that makes 16 thus far. Whoo hoo! I am having trouble though getting the required 60-80 grams of protein in. I have been drinking the slim fast low carb, (20 grams) but they are getting old fast. I would like to find something that is kind of lmixeds up ike a juice that I could drink as my 64 oz water requirement. Any ideas? Thanks! Doris:)

Wow, the 2nd day is worse!

Hi I am in Murfreesboro tn and had my surgery at Baptist in Nashville.I just had my surgery on the 14th of july and you are sooo right. , the gas pain is horrible. I am still on liquids only (the 1st 3 days) and truthfully i do not feel hungry at all. I laughed when i read about your kids and house, it could have been me talking!!! I had 3 c-sections and i dont remember it being this bad either, When did you have your surgery? It sounds like you have a good support group with your friends having it done also. I have 2 friends that had lapband about 2 years ago and they are so happy and tell me that this will all be a distant memory. IT BETTER, LOL , take care , Doris
  6. Hello everyone, I am new to this site, it really seems to be helpful. I am getting banded on Tuesday , July 14th, I tried for 3 years to get approved and finally switched hospitals and doctors and was approved within a month. go figure! I have cheated like crazy on the pre-op diet the last couple of days but still managed to lose about 7 lbs. Is that about normal? I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me about the day of and couple of days post op. Have a blessed evening,
