Illude - NOT a newbie!
StartingOver replied to illude's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Illude, you look awesome! Just the inspiration I needed! -
Nuria, First of all, welcome and congrats on making the decision to get banded. I agree with Susan, do your homework first. If you do choose a surgeon in Mexico, make sure first that you have local support, even if you don't use it for fills you should make sure that you have someone locally that will see you in case of an urgent band issue. I had surgery in Monterry, and had a great experience with my surgeon. Research all of your options and make the choice that is best for you.

Hello Everyone! A little reassurance please.
StartingOver replied to mwillis's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry I can't relate to the low BMI question, but I did want to welcome you to LBT. I'm sure you'll get alot of good information and support here. You may want to search the forums for low BMI posts, I know it's been brought up before. -
Another Newbie and a little nervous

Welcome to bandland Debra! I'm glad you found us and hope that we can provide you with the support and information that you need. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. I was pretty sore for 4-5 days after surgery, but woke up one day feeling better and not feeling sore when I moved around. -
For me, having lap band surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself, my health, and my family. I am just a happier, healthier person these days. I have a ways to go still, but nontheless, I'm 55lbs lighter than I was a year ago. BTW- I love the name Ethan. I'm expecting my 2nd child and was considering naming him Ethan if it's a boy. I just found out that I'm having a girl, so she'll be Isabel.

Thanks everyone for the congrats and all. I'm am just soo very excited to be having a baby girl. I haven't done any baby shopping since finding out that I'm pregnant, but sure thing the shopping started right after the ultrasound. Christina- sorry I've been AWOL from bootcamp. I just haven't been around LBT much lately. I have seemingly forgot what it means to be a bandster since I voluntarily had some fill removed from my band a few months ago. Now I just don't have any restriction. I've gained a whopping {gulp} 20lbs in the past 4 months. That is very difficult for me to admit. I haven't admitted that to anyone but my husband and my doctor (and may come back later and delete.) Well, regardless of the weight gain, I'm having a healthy and happy pregnancy which is a big change from my previous pregnancy at 300lbs and with high blood pressure. All is good and I can't wait to meet my little girl!

I am currently pregant and banded. I started my band journey at 305lbs and was 233lbs when I conceived. I got pregnant as soon as I stopped taking the pill.

When I was 6 I stuck a small stud type earring up my nose. It was stuck way up near my sinus and I had to go to the ER to have it removed. I still get nosebleeds in that nostril.

Calling all March 05 bandsters!

Good to see how everyone is doing. Let's see here, at 8 months post op I was down 75lbs. Now I am 19weeks pregnant, and back up to 245 so that's a net loss of 60lbs. I must admit that I am a bit sad not to get to my goal of 100lbs loss by my 1 year anniversary March 30th. I'm already planning my post-baby weight loss :-) -
Last night both of my chows got out of the yard, and unfortunatley one of them was hit by an SUV. Princess Rachel is a beautiful 2 year old chow that I've had since she was 6 weeks old. After the incident, a neighbor notified us and we brought Rachie in the house and observed her. She seemed shaken up and had a cut to her paw and her snout, but not in any trauma. The driver stopped by later in the evening to let us know he didn't actually run her over with his tire, but she did hit his bumper and went running off. We agonized over whether or not to take her to the emergency vet, and finally decided to wait until morning. My husband is taking Rachie to the vet this morning because she really just isn't acting like herself. I feel horrible that we didn't take her sooner, and now am just so worried that she has internal bleeding or some horrible problem that the vet won't be able to fix. Please say a prayer for my Princess doggie. I'll let you all know how she's doing as I get the info. I have some lovely pictures of her on another thread around here, I'll try to find them. Thank you!

Pregnancy and the band "Amanda Story"

Well, the verdict is in from the vet's office. It seems that Rachel doesn't have any fractures. She most likely is very sore due to bruising and she tore off one of her claws. She's hobbling around our house with a bandaged paw, but that is definately better than not being there at all, so I'll take it! I had to work alot yesterday and again today, so I'm spending as much time with her as I can and showering her with love. This whole incident has brought out such emotions in my husband for her that I never knew were there (he's not much of a dog person). It truely is very sweet and at this point I can't tell who is giving her more attention dh, me, or our 5 year old son. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. It means alot to me to know that I have such a great support system out there.

I see Dr. Ross Fox in Tacoma. His number is listed in a previous post on this thread.

I've been checking out the lighted dog collars at this site: www.auroralites.com My mom met a lady who was walking her black dog at night, and said that the collar made the dog very visable. We have a fully fenced yard, but every once in a while the dogs dig a hole so they can get out and explore the neighborhood. I'm hoping that replacing and dog proofing the fence will help, but I think I'm going to buy a few of these collars too. No word yet on how Rachel is doing.

Hi Tellie, I am also pregnant and banded. I am in my 16th week now. I found out about the pregnancy at 11 weeks and had some fill taken out of my band at that time. I cannot each much at one time, however I am hungry every few hours. I haven't had any band-related issues come up in the pregnancy yet, and I don't expect any of course, but only time will tell. If you have any questions or need support along the way feel free to PM me. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I weighed at my doctor's appointment Thursday and I have officially gained 9 lbs! I am not proud of that at all. food wise, I could be making better choices. I have, however, been getting in plety of Water and exercise. I think I may only get weighed at my doctor's visits until this pregnancy is over.

Congratulations Lauren on your accomplishment. You are doing such a great job!
