    I absolutely hate cooking but I am so bored with my day to day "same ol same ol" so figured I'd try something new! I was browsing some low carb recipe sites, printed out quite a few recipes and now have a rather large shopping list for today :thumbup: ... anyhow, one of the recipes calls for "almond flour" ... never heard of it, don't even know if they carry it in the "regular" store or if I'd have to go to the health food store. I'll have to check out that book ... would be interested to see what sort of recipes call for "coconut flour" ... thanks for the tip Kammi (I used to live in Everett ... miss it :teeth_smile:)

    OK so I was at the store bright & early this morning, hadn't had my Atkins shake for breakfast yet, saw the Kashi Go Lean Crunch! cereal and decided to buy it (despite the fact that the carb count scares me :eek:). Came home and had 1/2 C of it w/ 1/4 C fat free milk ... it gave me 4g fiber (but a whopping 22g carbs :thumbdown:) ... I get the same amount of fiber and alot less carbs from my shakes! I admit it's good cereal, but don't think it'll be on my daily menu. I've been on a "losing streak" the past few mornings so hopefully the scale will continue being nice to me tomorrow Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

  12. I know what you mean about the hassle of getting to TJ & back and paying $100 for fluoro each time ... been there, done that! Most people won't feel much restriction, if any at all after their first fill. I thought I felt it after my first fill ... I lost 5 lbs in the first 3 days after and I was on cloud 9 thinkin' WOOHOO this is gonna be a piece of cake! Then it went away :thumbup: ... turns out the "restriction" I was feeling was just a little swelling from the fill Keep in mind it takes 3-5 small fills to feel good restriction, or get to the "sweet spot" as they call it. No worries ... you'll get there soon!

    Mushies - Oy!

    I would definitely recommend buying the bullet ... it is PERFECT for making small, 1 serving "purees" ... I wish I had mine right after surgery but waited until a few months out to buy it. It wouldn't be a waste because when your partner goes for fills she'll have to be on liquids/purees for a day or two afterwards depending on her doctor's guidelines. I use mine all the time ... it's very handy and to me worth the money. Best of luck on the Lap Band journey! :thumbup:

    Aren't they good?? LOVE EM! The only drawback is the carb count :smile2: ... I plan on having them for lunch today! Well, my Ketostix are stuck on "small" ... I'll take it though as the weekend was hectic and I consumed just a bit more carbs eating away from home than I would have if I ate at home. :crying: Just checked out my BMI on TheDailyPlate ... I am shocked. I started this journey labeled "Morbidly Obese" and now I am simply "Overweight" with a BMI of 29.32 ... that made my day!! Here's to a good week! :rofl:

    Lucky you! I can find the chocolate & vanilla in the old style cans but no caramel ... I soooo miss that caramel! Well I went out to get some Ketostix ... first stop RiteAid, the people in the pharmacy didn't even know what they were and then told me I had to special order them :cool: ... found a CVS and got them there. Came home, looked at the box and they had expired back in January so back to the store I went ... anyhow, I ended up getting the CVS brand instead of Bayer and to my surprise I have a small amount of ketones I didn't have an iced coffee today ... hopefully I can hold off the rest of the night without making one and tomorrow move on up to moderate :thumbup:
