Got my 1st fill on Monday. 3cc in a 10cc band I feel nothing. I came home and ate chicken and rice soup. I hope I feel a little restriction next time.

My Dr puts 3cc in the first time. I think that is a bit much

My 1st fill is tomorrow also and I am so scared becasue my friend had her 1st fill on wednesday of last week and she couldn't even keep water down. I don't want to be sick on christmas day.

By post op day 7 I was starving and could eat whatever I wanted. My surgeon does not require you to be on a clear liquid diet after surgery you can start on pureed food right away. Now I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op and ready for a fill on Monday.

If I had sharp chest pain I would be in the Emergency Room. Do you think you should go and not put it off any longer. I had sharp chest pain a few years ago and it ended up being my gall bladder. Just go have it checked out.

i had the same type of pain for three days after my surgery but by the fourth day it was gone. When did you get banded?

Florida Pete, mine was all over my belly it was really really bad. Just know if it hurts really bad call the Doctor

The color of my skin is still not back to normal. Its like I have a suntan on large areas of my belly.

Is it only around the strips? If not and you start to see red areas then call your Dr right away and make him see you. I was banded on 11/11 and four days after I started getting this rash all over my belly and it started to blister and hurt really bad. (I cried several times a day) It ended up that I have a allergy to the prep that they use on your belly before surgery. I felt like a burn patient! Now they say it will take several months for the skin to be the same color as the area's that the prep didn't touch.

What's more important going to the bathroom or having coffee? My guess is that you will say going to the bathroom so go to the drugstore and get some colace (its a stool softener) and take it everyother day and see if it helps. Don't go back to drinking coffee, you have done so well without it.

My Doctor never required me to crush my meds. The day after surgery I was taking whole pills by mouth. You can eat just about anything you want right now but not take pills? Thats weird but I guess every surgeon is different.

Hello, I have Blue Cross of Pennsylvania and I had to have 6 months of supervision by my physician. If it is in your plan that you need it then you have to have it no matter what list of medical problems you have. So call your Doctor tomorrow and make an appointment for you 1st of 6 months.

Follow the diet that your Dr gives you. They know whats best for you. Good Luck and be strong.

imacha, Good luck with everything. I was just banded on 11/11 and I know how long of a process it is. I had to go to the Dr for 6 straight months then I could meet with the surgeon so I know what you are going through. Stay strong and wait the time out, I can't tell you that It will go fast because that would be a lie. Keep in touch!

I have Blue Cross PPO in Pennsylvania and I had to to see my pcp for 6 straight months, have a psyc eval and meet with the dietician. I also had to have a bmi of 40 or above. If you had a bmi below 40 you had to have other problems like gerd or sleep problems. After all the paper work was sent in it took them about 36 hours to send an approval to my Doctor. Then I was on my way.

Far to often we worry about what others think. Eat what you can and If they say anything tell them you are full and if they get upset then they get upset. You only have to worry about you and what you put into your body. Have fun on Thanksgiving and I hope all goes well. :smile2:

Marisol, Water does nothing for me except make me pee. I have no restriction and already scared that I am going to fail at this.

I'm 10 days post op and I am having a real hard time. I have no restriction (which I understand because the band is empty) I only stay full for about 2 hours and I don't even have to puree my food it goes down fine and stays down. the next 4 1/2 weeks are going to be so hard

Hello everyone I was baned on November 11 and it is going good. So far I am down 26lbs (counting the pre-op diet weight loss). I will say that it is going to be a long 4 1/2 weeks until I get a fill. I have no restriction and can eat as much as I want. I'm trying to be good but it is very hard. Does anyone else have this problem?

Sorry to hear that your port site hurts so much. I don't have any pain at all from any of my cuts. I had tomato Soup today and it tasted like steak it was soooo gooood! Hope to hear from you soon

jorja78, I agree that is why I started on clear liquid today. I needed to realize that every person's body is different and just becasue my friend is eating chili doesn't mean that I can. I feel much better today already.

WannaBSkinnyB, Yes he does lapband and gastric bypass he is a very good surgeon and the best in this area. My friend had the lapband on 11/4 and she is doing fine with pureed food. She even had some chili the other day. (I don't think she should have had that)
