  1. Happy 42nd Birthday Alma!

  2. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary Alma!

  3. :omg:Hello everyone - I am new to the LBT. I was banded on May 3, 2007 and required a second surgery June 28th because my port moved:omg:. I was scared to death but luckily it has been repositioned and I got my 1st fill that day. I have been somewhat discouraged because I'm not following the food plan as instructed. My enthusiasm is very low right now . I'm planning to attend the local support group this week. Did anyone out there feel this way?
  4. Hi Rachelle- I was very nervous and scared myself before my surgery. But as it turned out it was the easiest surgery I have gone through. I had my gallbladder removed last September and that was painful and took me some time to recover. I was up walking soon after I woke up from the anesthesia. I think the biggest difference with this surgery was that I came home with a pump that continuosly gives you pain medication 48hrs post op. I was off from work 7 days and have 3 small children to care for at home - life at home never slowed down. I did have to go back to surgery almost a month after the band placement because my port moved. I went in for my first fill 2wks post op and my surgeon could not access the port. He sent me to a radiologist to access it under x-ray but to no avail. I had no choice but to go back under to have him revise the port and reposition it. I have to admit I was very discouraged when I found out I would need another surgery but thank God everything went ok. I had the surgery done on a Thursday and returned to work that next Monday. Believe me I worried more than I should. Just believe and expect that everything will go fine. Good Luck to you! alma
  5. Hi Heather - I was just like you at the beginning I went 5 days on pure liquids and was all I could do. I was HUNGRY! I started eating tuna fish with Ritz crackers and that was the best meal ever. I was so scared to eat at first but it go to the point that I didn't care. During the process they put the fear of GOD in you if you eat outside of the guidelines but I found out it's not the case. Just take your time and chew the food very good and you will be fine.
