Yes this is what I felt like! Like it would take me a while to straighten up.

how often did you feel buyers remorse having the surgery
Chevron replied to johnedwin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
About 1.5weeks from op to when my pain stopped but it was fully manageable with medication . I haven’t encountered any buyers regret. -
Test before surgery
Chevron replied to mistiterry2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn’t need to do any tests for insurance purposes. My surgeon required a few blood tests in the weeks before op. That was it. -
Was anyone else told not to shave their legs 4 days before surgery?
Chevron replied to KimB7811's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to remove anything from the surgery area. They didn’t say anything about legs. -
Hi I had a plication about 7 years ago when it was still pretty new to my country. It lasted about 1.5yrs until some of the sutures unraveled and I needed to get the whole thing reversed. I was hesitant to undo it as I was losing weight but my surgeon said I could die so I got it reversed. I put most of the weight back on. Last year I got a sleeve done and now I’m less than 5kg from goal.

Help i need some answers
Chevron replied to AlmostsleevedQueen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hmm this is a lot for three weeks post op. I’m about seven months and can only eat one egg. You need to raise this with your doctor. I find that although I can only eat a small meal, i can get hungry an hour later. But hunger is normal and I know I don’t have to eat just because I feel hungry. I drink water, or eat a cracker or two (less than 50 cal), or just be hungry. Some people lose all hunger but some, like me, still need to work with it. -
How soon after surgery did you wait to workout?
Chevron replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I was cleared to lift weights about three months post op. I started walking around my local community as soon as I got home from hospital. There was a lot of slow shuffling up and down the street the first days back (more for circulation than exercise), but now I’m power walking and loving it. -
Easter candy problems
Chevron replied to KCgirl061's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks MrsGamgee. You’re right I need some non food focussed traditions. I’d like to decorate my house a little for Easter, go to church for the stations of the cross (not religious but I like the ceremony around it) and maybe take a mini break somewhere (not sure where yet). -
Easter candy problems
Chevron replied to KCgirl061's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This year is my first post op Easter and I haven’t figured out how to “celebrate”. Maybe I’m getting old but I like having “traditions” that I can look forward to each year. I tolerate chocolate just fine, so I’m thinking maybe a special chocolate that I reserve only for Easter (need to find it first though!), or making a sugar free brownie that’s shaped and decorated like an egg, or a decadent hot cross bun. Wow I just realised I haven’t had a hot cross bun this year at all! Pre op I would buy a six pack from the bakery and eat them all up in a day or two (with lots of butter) 😳😳 -
My doctor preferred the bypass but I insisted on the sleeve. I work in an office and travel a lot as part of my job, and didn’t want a higher risk of dumping syndrome or smelly gas that would embarrass me at work. You can still dump with the sleeve but I never have, and I have no gas issues.

I wish I had classes! I’m not aware of anyone who runs classes near where I am. It seems to be just a few one on one meetings with the surgeon and dietician (and psychologist if you choose).

Pureed Stage + No Meats?? Gastric Sleeve Patient
Chevron replied to Tejee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For the purée stage, I had lots of dairy like low fat yoghurt (no fruit bits) and custard, and puréed fruit and veg. With the meat issue, it’s best to follow what your doctor says. -
Counting down & preparing a bag.

Toiletries! The first time I ever went to hospital, I assumed they would provide toiletries like a hotel does (don’t know why I thought this lol). Luckily there was a pharmacy on site so I was able to pick up supplies. The only toiletries my hospital supplied was hand wash. -
Eep! Sorry I didn’t check which board this was in, only saw it on my timeline. Please disregard! My comment isn’t relevant here. Sorry!!

Any Other Sleevers who did NOT have to do liquid diet before?
Chevron replied to fun_freckles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn’t have to but my surgeon said I could if I wanted to. I did it (sort of). The diet wasn’t liquid though. The brand we used had shakes and bars, so I just used the bars. -
gas.. gas.. gas... smelly... help...
Chevron replied to lizzie101's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh just saw on your other post you’re a week or so out. It really does settle down! I can’t remember exactly when I was back to normal but it was def much shorter than one month. No more stomach noises or anything. -

How far post op are you? Mine settled down to be back to normal. -
I used saxenda for six months and saw no change. It made me nauseous the first day and then for the rest of the six months it felt like I wasn’t using it. I had appointments with my doctor to ensure I was doing it right and an appointment with an “injection educator” to check I was injecting it properly. But it didn’t do anything for me except cost a lot of money.

Why you should NOT work out after WLS
Chevron replied to Bougieb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I’ve seen a few surgeons online who agree with this, including my own. In sessions he says oh yes fine to exercise if you want, but I have a video of him at a conference saying it’s not important, the issue being that the eating is what’s going to make the weight loss. The only time I had to exercise was immediately post op to prevent blood clots. -
Immediately post op I was instructed to use a multivitamin that dissolved in water. Two months out my dietician put me on a chewable multi. She said most people get nauseous doing a chewable if they’re less than two months post op.

Recent Post Op Having Issues with Liquids
Chevron replied to TeeMillz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon gave me a tiny medicine cup, about 30ml, to sip from. He also told me to stand up rather than sit. Both things made the liquid go down much nicer. -
For crunch snacks, my dietician allows crackers with a high grain or seed content. They’re not salty snacks per se but you get the crunch.

I haven’t had any alcohol since. I’ve had one coffee since which is a big achievement for me. I used to have one coffee a day for breakfast and felt I couldn’t function without it. I used to drink a diet soft drink in the afternoon and haven’t had any since.
