Still Lost.. But Hopefulllll...
clovers replied to Pranjala's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I had sleeve plication last September, down about 60 lbs. now ......and other than feeling nauseated for a couple months, now I can eat whatever I want albeit far less of it.. You can't worry about stitchs coming undone. i personally have never heard of this happening and it makes little sense to worry anyway as worry is non productive and can not affect any result ....just cause you stress. No dumping syndrome associated with the sleeve plication surgery... and yes, I did experience some hair loss due to, I believe the anesthetic ...started at about 2-3 months and ended at about 5-ish months and it's all growing back in, Not that I was bald or anything close, just a thinning on one side of my crown...but that's passed now. now I can eat anything .. ..unlike with other types of surgeries that are restrictive as to certain foods. PS with the lap-band surgery, probably yummy Naan bread will be a forever no-no...pity. Hope my experience will serve to put your mind at rest at least a little... Take care other-side-of-the-world nice person. -
Like many here, I too experienced hair loss at the 2nd month mark...and I read here that it usually lasts till around 5 months. Spot on! My hair is not coming out anymore...I always peer carefully at my comb...and is growing back and I don't feel like Donald Trump anymore.(Thank God for small favors)!! Lena... please tell why 7 months after sleeve plication you had to have it reversed? I was at 7 months end of April and feel out of the woods...but maybe not! love, sunshine and healthy vibes to all.

How Far Post Op Are You And How Much Weight Have You Lost?
clovers replied to Bekrudz's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Ya, Beatrudz, my post could mirror yours almost word for word. I do NOT get on the scale every day like Juliehas6kids wrote. I don't wanna be bothered with eighths and tenths. I wanna see real whole pounds coming off so I restrict myself to 2 weighs per month. Last month I only lost 3 lbs. but it's entirely my fault for not being so 'good' sometimes.. some jelly Beans were irresistable, some passover matzos, some wonderful crackers from Whole Foods, cheeses that call my name ..but each day is a new day and each brings the chance to get it right and I do and I will as I never wanna carry so much weight around again. The hardest thing for me is to not drink during meals or shortly thereafter and in that respect, I've not been so good to me. I've lost 55 pounds, (in 7 months), so far and I really wanna lose half of me. I was feeling smug because unlike some methods of WLS, like the band, there are many who can not and will never eat certain foods again, good stuff like chicken, and I was happy I wasn't one of them but having no dietary restrictions has its pitfalls too because I CAN eat anything..even what I shouldn't. But I WILL prevail! Failure is NOT optional. I AM the master (mistress?) of my own stomach.. blablabla.. Okay, Off my soapbox... I would love to chat with others who have been through this. I'm clovers@aol.com...live in Miami..well, 'exist' in Miami, anyway....... -

2 Days Out & Lots Of Throwing Up?, Need Reassurance!
clovers replied to AshLdy's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Yup.. and unfortunately it (may) last a lot longer than two days. In my case, it was close to two months before I could stop carying my um...vessle (sc) around the house with me .But.. everyone is different. The timeline for introducing different foods just worked slower for me. But now, I can definitely feel when I've eaten a bit too much but not to the point of tossing the 'too much' up.. Thank GOD that's over. -

Good for you!! Hope all went well. I had that same procedure on 22/September/2011. There are haters on this board who will try to make you feel bad about your decision. Don't let them. clovers
