Dr Krahn Parkview Community hospital
WorkItWorkIt posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr Krahn and his partner Dr. Channing Chin are excellent in The Inland Empire Southern California. I had lots of previous scar tissue on my stomach with a chance they could not do the surgery. First thing I asked hubby when I woke up.Dr. Krahn explained the surgery, talked to me again before the surgery, Dr. Chin has done most of my post op appointments. Mine was an open procedure and I would have it done all over again and can not wait for Onederland! Surgery date 9/4/2013 HW 259 RYN 238, this week 209 -
When people ask "How did you lose weight?"
WorkItWorkIt replied to MySleeveJourney's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I told people the truth from the very beginning. When people tell me I look great I get embarrassed. I have not been at this weight in over 32 years since the birth of my first child. When someone makes an ugly comment like you took the easy way out, I generally say if you think the surgery and lifestyle changes are easy then you do not know enough about the program, it is the hardest thing I have done in my entire life. -
Does anyone have constipation? I only go twice a week. I take one collace daily but that does not seem to do the trick. I am 6 weeks out and only eating Protein and my many Vitamins including Iron. Any suggestions? Surgery date 9/4/2013 HW 259 RYN 238, this week 209

So glad your family liked it. In addition, it freezes well - so I freeze some of it in meals I can eat! -

I could not eat that much in a day. 3 - 4 tablespoons or 3 - 4 ounces is it for me at one time. -
All depends on how you feel. My surgeon said as soon as I felt up to it. My surgery was open, I went back to work after two weeks and I believe it was about two weeks for my hubby and I.

I was awakened by the wind and the umbrella that was flying around the deck. I called to my husband to help me. I was in my underwear and a Tshirt. We have a mirrored closet near the front door. As my husband was bringing in the umbrella I wondered who was that person standing there in their underwear and then I realized it is me!!!!!!!!!! Surgery date 9/4/2013 HW 269 RYN 238, this week 203

Almost 60 days out can you see a difference? I made it to onederland - need to update my tag line! -
Found this new tomato sauce at Stator bros. 1/2 cup is 50 calories and the sauce is very tasty. Although it is very expensive $9.99 for the jar. I took hot Italian turkey sausage browned it, and mixed a 1/2 cup of this new sauce. It made two meals for me. I have a problem with sugar anything over 1 gram and I will dump. Yesterday was a good day, no dumping and at least 60 ounces of water. The sauce name is Lucini Italia Hearty Artichoke Tomato Sauce 100% natural no sugar added (made in Italy)

I think my bowel issues are over - I take one Colace three times a day and eat applesauce every other day. Not sure what does it - but I am thankful regardless. The applesauce makes me sick to my tummy for about 30 minutes - more than likely too much sugar - 11 grams for the unsweetened.

Listen to the doctor - you are too early to do anything else. How much of the magnesium citrate did you drink? My doctor's office said to start with 1/4 of the bottle, if no results drink another 1/4. -
Have size 18 W pants, I am only 5'4" so if you are tall they will not work. Also have several dresses size 22 - 20. Most are career pants and same for the dresses. I am located in Southern California.

I Really like yogurt but every time I go to the store and look at the yogurt, every brand I look at is full of sugar. Can someone recommend a low sugar yogurt? Surgery date 9/4/2013 HW 269 RYN 238, this week 203

Anyone else still able to tolerate all foods?
WorkItWorkIt replied to ChristyC23's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am a grazer, I am very glad I dump if I eat the wrong foods. If I do not dump! then I feel sick to my tummy. I would be putting weight back on if I could eat everything. I love the fact that I can only eat a little three tablespoons and that I am not hungry - cravings yes. This time of the year, candy has always been my downfall so glad I can not eat it! WorkItWorkIt replied to mychoice2lose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am not tired at all - the problem I have - husband is ready for bed early like we have for years and I have more energy. So I have been keeping the house a little cleaner, reading more and need to incorporate exercise in my daily routine - other than walking. In the beginning I was tired - but I went back to work after two weeks off. In my 51 days, I have had two breakdowns and asked my husband why did I do this to myself - both bouts were centered around bowel issues. So 95% of the time or more, I am good, I am a slow learner and did not realize that things I took for granted have sugar like BBQ sauce and ketchup. The most important things - listen to your doctor and the nuturionist, allow other people to take care of you - I could not wipe my backside and had to ask for help - take the pain medication and sleep when you are not walking. Make sure you pack chapstick and lotion - my skin has become dry with the surgery. I feel like I have learned more about me during the last 51 days than I ever have before - part of it is due to the RNYTALK website and learning from the many wonderful motivators that have joined this group.
