Rny 11 months ago. Down 94 pounds and feel great. Have not had any issues with anything. No dumping and have tolerated everything I have ate so far as long as it's not too dry. Going to the gym 3 days a week for 30 minutes of cardio and 45 mins of weights. Best shape of my life!! Absolutely no regrets.

September Surgeries..
jeepinalong replied to xiomara8868's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just had my 4 week check up today. I am released to go to the gym with no restrictions and my nut said I don't have to puree my meat as long as it is very moist. Feel like I won the lottery today. Also was taken off my blood pressure med so my only prescription med left is my Prilosec. Loving my new life. Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using RNYTalk Surgery 9/27/13 Lap Roux DOS 301 Current 256 -

Just had the most incredible tasting Protein shake. Syntrax Matrix 2.0 Peanut Butter cookie flavor. Tasted like a REAL peanut butter cookie. Bought it from the store at my Bariatric Center. Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using RNYTalk Surgery 9/27/13 Lap Roux DOS 301 Current 256 -
Need Protein drink ideas

I get the vanilla body fortress from Walmart. I flavor it with Apple pie spice or imitation banana, strawberry,or raspberry flavorings. Sometimes I use sugar free Hershey chocolate or strawberry syrup. Lots of combos with these ingredients. Chocolate banana or strawberry banana, etc. Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using RNYTalk Surgery 9/27/13 Lap Roux DOS 301 Current 256 -

Congratulations on your new journey. I am not at the pureed stage yet I have 2 more weeks of full liquids. For me I have no problem with other people cooking and eating. I actually cooked a couple meals for the wife and kids and it didn't bother me at all. I just keep reminding myself why I had this done and also I refuse to fail. Hello Shirley I am two weeks post op and live in Indiana close to Ft Wayne. It took me 15 months for my insurance to approve but it was worth it. Day of surgery my weight was 301 today I am at 260. I was diabetic and 2 days after surgery they took me off all my insulin. My sugar level runs in the 90's every day. The biggest problem I am having post op is the head hunger. Just follow the rules and walk, walk, walk. Good luck with your journey and if I can help let me know. Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using RNYTalk Surgery 9/27/13 Lap Roux DOS 301 Current 260

Had my surgery Friday morning at St. Vincent in Carmel. Went home Sunday and feel pretty good. Have not had any pain meds since Saturday am. Eating and drinking ok and walking. Only took me 15 months to get insurance approval for the surgery. They took me off all my meds including the two different insulins I was on on Sunday, blood sugar has been in the 90's. Looking forward to my new life.

It may still work for you. They told me I could be on metformin for a while but ended up not having to.

I was on two insulins, victoza, and metformin. They took me off all of it two days after surgery and blood sugars are normal. I still have to check twice a day. Never been over 120 since.
