Has anyone used and or had this one approved for pre and or post op? I am trying to do all RAW, Vegan, Gluten GMO Free shakes or Meal Replacements. Any suggestions for another brand that fits that category please let me know

Have not slept much to get into the discussion but I am going to try out Jay Robbs all Natural Whey Isolate so if anyone on this thread has feedback (including you Tizzie!) it is much appreciated. Finding a natural non gmo protein has been a lot harder than I thought.

Hey everyone! New here, and just started my journey of getting approved for Gastric Bypass. I already called my insurance which is Medicaid - Specifically Maryland Psyhisians Care. Has anyone has the 6 month requirement before being approved for surgery? They did not mention that as a requirement but unsure if that will come up when my PCP tries to send in my forms for approval. I am a bit nervous about that because when it comes to the excercise part its pretty difficult when you have Fibromyalgia, Plantar Fasciitis and a pinched nerve in your back. Thanks!

Well that makes A LOT of sense now Pear. Good luck Mo

More like the reason I haven't had as many supportive responses is because no one knows anything about RAW WHOLE food NON GMO Protein shakes not because 'I won't get enough protein'. I can certainly get what I need on a whole food diet free of GMO's which is what most of the food you are probably eating contains. Tizzie is correct, just because it's labeled organic does not make it 100% organic companies still use chemicals and addictive's in their products. You have been unhelpful on every single one of my posts Pear, so why don't you just try to ignore me instead of hunt me down to post nothing but condescending comments? You want to keep eating unhealthy, that's your problem not mine. I however am going to make a difference in my diet that matters.

There is a vlogger with Bipolar that was doing vlogs for her gastric bypass surgery and struggles with her disorder and the ups. So it shouldn't be a problem

The absolute only person who was supportive of my choice of wanting a vegan whole food non gmo protein shake was Tizzle. If you have a problem with her knowledge on today's food when most Americans have no clue what they are eating they just eat it, you can PM her and let other people with a better attitude than yours post on my question.

Tizzie THANK YOU so much for the feedback and the information about fish! I did look into Warrior, but it did not have as much as the Garden of Life Protein Powder has to offer. So I am going to skip it. I was interested in Coconut Milk but after hearing about that I stayed away would you mind sending me a message on how you make your own?

Spoke with 4-5 people from my insurance and still no mention of a monitored diet. Not sure when I will find out. If anyone else has my insurance would love some feedback!

I just saw my PCP today and although he did not give me much information except for 'You are pretty young for Gastric Bypass' he mentioned how he usually sees a 4-6 month pre diet. Of course I still have no idea if its a requirement for me just yet but he would not go any further with it until I see my surgeon who is giving me a call this week to set up an appointment. So my question is, he set up an appointment for me in a month does starting trying to use my bike and change my diet now count if I go in next appointment with a few pounds lost and how I started a new diet and exercise? I can't afford Jenny Craig or anything like that. Any tips suggestions diets appreciated as well! So far I am cutting out all breads and pasta's and doing nutritional shakes with lean meat, and fruits and veggies.

4-6 Month Monitored Diet
CandyCrushRNY replied to CandyCrushRNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have actually called my insurance a handful of times to talk to different people and every time I asked what the requirements are all of them just said my PCP needs to send in a request and that's it. I am not sure if that means I can just go right into it, or they just aren't informed. Super confused about it hoping when I see my surgeon I can get more answers. -

4-6 Month Monitored Diet
CandyCrushRNY replied to CandyCrushRNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much Monola! He did get my starting weight so I will just do a bit of shakes and riding my bike. I do have health issues making going to the gym impossible so hopefully that helps my case. -
So I am a huge pre-planner and like to list out what I need to buy for how much and how many in advance. I have watched videos for the last week but I seem to run into a wall of 'how do you really need' For instance, how many cans and cartoons and boxes of Jello, pudding, Soup, and broth do you need for a 1-3 week liquid diet? Lets says you buy a Protein shake that has 27 servings - how much are you going to use within a 1-3 week period? Thanks so much for your feedback!

Thanks Blor! I was looking into that too because it was the highest rated shake Also, thanks for the tip about amino acids I will make sure the ones I am looking into have that. I am okay with chalky taste since its not important to me I can just put in food or use some sugar free syrup.

Humm I think what I will do then is buy a 30 day supply to start taking now and bring into my appointment or print off a sheet with the ingredients. What I like about them is they are already packed with biotin iron B12 ect. The iron supplements also has B12 and biotin so I can get it all in 3 bottles. Liquid Calcium Citrate from Blue Bonnet. At least what I am crossing my fingers I can do.

These shakes have 17-36 grams of protein. Which is what I read is what you are looking for. I just want my shake to be raw whole food just like my vitamins. I am doing all Garden of Life vitamins and minerals because the capsules can be opened and put in water or juice (as directed on on the back) or taken orally. A favorite brand for pregnant women for that fact.

I am not limiting specifically to Gluten Free or Vegan, I am interested in organic products without the added yucky stuff I found about 4-5 other shakes that met what I wanted so we shall see.

How much do you really need?
CandyCrushRNY replied to CandyCrushRNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not yet they are calling me next week for my first appointment overly excited. They asked me to watch some videos to understand the process some more so I guess I will add this as a question for my appointment too. -
Amazing!!! Good work

This is why birth control and condoms are important. Also, monitoring your cycle on a fertility or period calendar/app like fertility friend.
