Today is my six-month surgiversary! I haven't seen any threads for September 2013 surgeries, so I thought I'd start one to see how everyone is doing. I'm down 70 pounds and off all my meds. My weight loss has definitely slowed, but slow and steady wins the race! Hope you are all doing well!

I exercise a lot as well and am 6 month post op. My nut reccomends 1200 calories per day.

I agree, put ur scale away! I only weighed in at my many doctor visits for the first three months and was always pleased with thw results. Hate the stress the scale brings. -
Glad to hear that! Hang in there!

Hi marie! Wow, you've done soooo good! I feel u, girl...im only 5 months out and have already started going back to my bad habits. Its too easy to eat junk:-( i wish i could offer better advice, but we just gotta do it. Are you Catholic? Today is the Ash Wednesday, so im using today as a symbolic start day to get back on track. I give u credit fot realizing ur starting to falll off track before things get outta hand. Im sure ur like me...u know what to do, but are having a hard time doing it, correct? I made an appt with my nut in the hopes she can help me get back on track. Good luck, and please let me know how you are doing!

patticake1448 replied to thinnerdays's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations, you've already come a long way! Please be gentle with yourself. You are still healing, and things will get better! You will be able to eat more and more variety soon! I'm five months out and can eat anything. This is definitely a mixed blessing! Hang in there, and please let me know what I can do to help. God bless! -
Congratulations! That's an awesome loss!

Binge eating., HELP!
patticake1448 replied to nursie026's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sadly, i know just how u feel. Ive been off track for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday it was pizza; today it was potato chips and chips ahoy cookies. I know what to do, i just cant seem to do it! Soooo frustrated and disappointed in myself. Good luck to you! -
Good luck, fitnfab! Let us know how you're doing, hope you don't lose any hair! Branmuffin, I'm actually a receptionist at a hair salon, so i'm not sure about the keratin treatment. I know we don't offer them in our salon, but I'll ask the girls about it tomorrow and let you know.

How do i add friends to MFP?
patticake1448 replied to tkauhi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just sent you a friend request....just go to the e-mail option under friends on mfp, click on the icon of a head with the plus sign on it, then the email option. You don't need to use a person's e-mail address, just the person's username. I actually got a lot of "friends" just by inviting people others have as friends...good luck! -
I Ate 2400 Calories
patticake1448 replied to Curvy4lyfe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Curvy! I'm in the same boat...I can eat any amount of anything, and probably ate about 2400 calories this past sunday. No restriction, no dumping, feels like I never had surgery. I haven't lost anything in about a month, either. You're right, you won't fail this time, you got this! We just have to get back on the wagon and work this tool! I sent you a friend request on mfp. Please keep me posted and let me know how you are doing! -
What is your WLS Motivating Mantra?
patticake1448 replied to Dee_1111's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I love all of the quotes on this post and need to print them all out! I was so stressed before surgery, mine was "You got this!". might need a new one now.... -
Im five months out and have been losing hair like crazy for the past two months:-( my nut recommemded 65 grams of protein a day, tho i often get more. I've taken biotin since pre op, and use nioxin products. Nothing works for me. I work in a hair salon and the girls told me hair grows in a three month cycle. I sure hope things turn around in a month!

Hi dana! I had surgery 9/25/13 and ate a six inch flatbread and a cookie today. U r right, way less than i used to eat, but way more than i should. No restriction, no dumping. Feels like i never had surgery. Scary!
