Post OP day 11 gaining weight?

Sounds like you are doing right with fluid and protein. I about the same post op days as you and yesterday I felt hungry most of the I kept wondering if I were really hungry or if it was more emotional and then the fear struck me and I started second guessing if this was going to work. Today I woke up feeling content and back in charge. Nth is is definately going to be an interesting journey. I am so glad I have this group to come check in with.....hang in there and stay in touch!

Post OP day 11 gaining weight?

Don't get discouraged. Your scale is probably "off" from your doctors scale I was weighed as I was leaving the hospital and I had an almost 10 pound gain from my day of surgery weight. What type of food plan did they send you home with? Initially I was eating lots of broths and I could tell I was retaining fluid. Hang in there you will start to see the scale move in he right direction I am sure!
  8. So excited - I am not 2 weeks out until Monday but I work graveyards and am returning to work on Monday night so I saw my doctor today. Highest wt: 288 Surgery wt: 275 Today's weight: 263 I am feeling great and so excited to see where this journey takes me. My goal now is to get my butt moving with some exercise.

Fall down 7 times. Stand up 8!

So glad you are home and doing well. Give yourself time to figure out the food situation. I am using MyFitnessPal to help me track my protein intake and that has been very helpful for me. I am excited to have someone so close to my surgery date to chat with here. Wishing you smooth sailing from here forward!

    Surgery in 2 weeks

Welcome! I agree you are at the right place. I wanted to share advise from my Dr and his team pre surgery. The weight you lose during the preparation phase of this surgery is every bit as important and in most cases more important than the post op battle. You have already made some very important lifestyle changes and this surgery doesn't have guarantees that anyone will lose ALL of their weight post op......it's a tool that we work with. Your friends and family mean well but they haven't fought your same battle. I didn't have my surgery until recently, I am 58 and the older I got the more difficult the weight battle became. I bet you won't regret your decision - I am only a week post op and I am so excited to be on this journey!

Fall down 7 times. Stand up 8!

Nope it's YOU talking ( the meds probably help) but its you! My dr keep telling me that my positive attitude was why I felt so good so between your attitude and all those prayers you are in a in win situation! Keep smiling you are on the other side now

Good luck to you. I can identify with so much of your story.....I had my surgery last Monday and I am doing very well and have no regrets. I have another week off work but if I had to return this week I could have. I'm starting o figure things out and everyday I feel even better. It's nice to know someone starting out with me. Karen

    My first post....Surgery Jan 6th

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm still trying to figure this site out. Can someone tell me how to set the ticker up? I am closing out my first week post up nd it has mostly been successful. I am able to et without problems and I've found if I plan my day out. Factoring in a minimum of my 60 grams of Protein and set my 64 oz of Water out it helps me reach the two most important goals of the day.
