I'm having a revision from Band to Bypass on Oct. 16, 2013. The Band gave me terrible acid reflux. I really felt like a failure when I had to have the fill removed and regained the weight. This site has shown me that this experience has been shared by many. I think the Drs did not provide the clear picture of what might happen or how to accommodate to the Band problems. While it feels like it has been a waste of 4 years since I had the Band it and didn't work, I do feel SO much more prepared for the Bypass. I have done so much more research and am quite prepared to make the changes that Bypass requires. The websites, books, and volume of people who have stories to share have given me a much better support system than I had 4 yrs. ago. While I can't say it was for the best that the Band didn't work out, I will say I'm making Lemonade out of the lemons and no longer feel like a failure.
