  1. This is all very confusing. You asked a question which suggested you were perhaps going to tell the surgeon how to do his job. Now it seems like you had surgery and you think something may be wrong. It looks like half the story is missing. Can you please clarify instead of snapping at someone who is trying to figure out how to help?

    baggage

The amount of clothing baggage you'll shed over the coming year won't come close to the emotional baggage you'll be throwing overboard!
  3. Don't you think that is for your surgeon to decide, based on your body size and type, Your health, and his experience and education? There are a lot of things to learn and focus on to make your WLS a success. Why waste time and energy on things you have no control over?

Anyone who gets one of these messages and actually responds or sends money after all the years of warnings about internet spam deserves to lose their money!

    What a nice surprise!

When that train of thought starts to leave the station, consider what those "friends" (your favorite foods) have cost you over the years: -good health -ability to move quickly and easily -chances to play effortlessly with your children -opportunities to do fun things with family and friends -job opportunities and higher wages -the ability to shop at regular stores for a wide selection of pretty clothes -years of great sex and intimacy -ability to travel easily, fit in airplane seats, & have energy to explore the world -lots of fun -and so much more! With "friends" like this, who needs enemies??? This is why we say success with WLS is 20% due to the tool and 80% "head work". It requires you to re-think a lot of your beliefs and assumptions.

    What a nice surprise!

Psst. I'll let you in on a secret. You don't need that Last Supper, because you'll be able to have most foods again---someday, albeit in much smaller quantities. Ironically, you will lose your taste or desire for many of them over time and won't even want them later. Being thin and healthy and being in control of your life feels far, far better than most food tastes! You haven't lost anything by this date change--you just won the weight loss lottery! Congrats! What an exciting way to kick off the New Year!

    Ugh vitamins

buy pill holders at the drug store. Fill with a week's or a month's supply. Keep the pill holder in a very visible place, Put up post-it-note reminders. Take your pills the same time each day. Remember you can get seriously ill if you don't take your Vitamins each day, They are no longer optional!

    After surgery bathroom issues

It's unusual then that you would only be urinating once a day. Do you have heart problems that might cause Fluid retention? You might run this by the doctor's staff, just to check. A laxative or stool softeners plus walking as much as you can will help everything get moving. Take good care of yourself.

    After surgery bathroom issues

You are dehydrated and that is very damaging to your body. You could wind up spending Christmas in the hospital unless you greatly increase your hydration and quickly. Go to a medical website like Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic and read up on dehydration and/or call your doctor's staff and tell them what is going on..

    Not losing lbs

The Week 3 stall is legendary. Just stick with the program and it will pass. You will need clothes during your weight loss or you will look like a clean but homeless person. Many shop at thrift or consignment stores or hit the sales for low price, interim options.

    Depression & Anti-Depressants

One thing you will find as you read this forum and others like it is that it's 99.9% certain that you are not the only one who has dealt with any particular issue! There's always someone who has walked that path before you.
  15. Your surgeon and cardiologist are the ones best qualified to tell you what to expect with your specific medical history. A heart attack damages the heart muscle, so losing weight seems unlikely repair the tissue damage or clear out the clogged arteries. However, people generally experience improved health with the weight loss and by making better food choices going forward. Three weeks after RNY at 60, my cardiologist reduced the dose of one of my meds for congestive heart failure by half and said I might be taken off that med entirely at one year. I don't eat fatty foods or junk food anymore so my cholesterol should be coming down. Most importantly, the weight loss reduces the stress on the heart muscle and joints and that is a huge contributor to quality of life. Best wishes.
