  1. SnohoGal98296, leave it to the girl from the Pacific Northwest to remind us of stevia! I'm from Seattle. I kept thinking for some reason that aspartame was the gold standard treatment for obesity along with WLS......lol I can hang with stevia for sure.
  2. That's what I'm saying. I'm scared about eating sugar free foods, sucralose and all the chemicals. I eat a lot of whole organic foods (I just eat a lot!) Obviously, I'm pre-pre-op

    Finding out you don't qualify

I would definitely go the route of not actually gaining weight! I know some obese people are without symptoms health wise but I'd hardly call it healthy. What about a milkshake the night before a fasting glucose? ? Prediabetes? One of the stipulations of this pre auth phase for me is that I can't be heavier than when I started.

    What is your typical day?

Thanks, good tips. I still think I will miss being able to dive head first into a salad. I'll have to be one of the folks who eats real food, tho. Its less tempting for me. A Protein bar will feel like a candy bar. And obviously, I could eat more than one in a sitting. And sugar-free foods makes me want to jump off a bridge into a vat of whatever the "real food" is. Oh well, here's hoping my tastes buds change after surgery.

    What is your typical day?

Hey everyone, I'm far from surgery but as I read through people's food, I'm wondering where are the vegetables? I know the focus is on getting enough protein but I'm sitting here eating my lunch of a marinated kale (2 cups) with steak (4 ounces) and avocado a few dried cherries, do I have to say good bye to eating like this with the sleeve? Can anyone eat lettuce or salads still post-op?
  8. I'm the same boat you are in except, my insurance requires 6 months. I've been having a difficult time since my 3 yo daughter had to have surgery last week. My sleep is getting slowly better as she is recovering. I started weighing and tracking my food on MFP, walking on lunch breaks and then again on the treadmill at home. At least if I don't loose weight, they can see exactly what I've been eating. If I'm not loosing weight doing all this, I must really be metabolically challenged and desperately need surgery. I think I'm loosing tho.
  9. Hey everybody, I have a provisional acceptance into my insurance's bariatric program (Regence) and I have to loose weight over the next 6 months in order to qualify for surgery. What are some of the things people have tried who’ve been in a similar boat? Are there any resources on this site for what I’m calling a pre-auth vs pre-op diet. Thanks PS. This is my first post after having lurked for a several weeks.
  10. 46 pounds? Holy lord, but I guess that could happen dropping to 1500 cals per day. Congrats on your efforts
  11. I was wondering about that....lol
