When you exercise you need to change it up daily. Try cardio first day. Day 2-15 mins cardio followed by arms and upper body finish 15 mins cardio. Day 3-all cardio. Day 4-10 mins cardio then legs and lower body finish with15 mins cardio. Change it up or your body will get used to the excersise you are doing and won't get you anywhere. Hope this helps. Remember to give your body a break at least once or twice a week.

You'll be fine. Your insurance approved both so having 2 shouldn't matter. My approval went as follows : lap band removal approved. Gastric bypass approved. My Dr was going to do it all at once but couldn't. We are setting a new date for end of February to first week of March. I asked her if I would need another approal and she said no. Anyways, good luck to you.

Good luck. You can do it!!! I've been smoke free for 25 years. so I know it's not easy. Take the money you save for every pack of cigs you would havehave bought and take a little vacation with that money next year. Good luck again.

oh and my but said we can drink sugar free carnation instant breakfast for your protein shake. Another drink (hard to find) is Special K protein packets pink lemonade flavor. My daughter-in-law said she orders them from Amazon.com

I bought my muscle milk at Walmart, 4 pack for $5.98. I just bought 10 packs for $59.80. That's 40 bottles. If you have a Vitamin Shoppe near you they sell individual bottles if you want to try it. Syntex NectarNectar isolate is also good. Plus if you buy what they sell and don't like it you can return itit. For those of you that don't know, isolate means it will desolve better.

Get yourself a couple pretty plates child size like corning ware salad plates. Crystal light it will still count as a water. I get the packets cause it just ads to a 16.9 oz.bottle. I'm starting to buy my tomorrow. Walmart. has sugar free muscle milk 100 calories 4 pack. I bought it to try and LOVE it!!! 15 grams protein. Good luck!

The only ones that know about mine are my husband, 3 kids, sister and a cousin I'm very close to. My daughter-in- law and her parents know also as they all had gastric bypass done. They will be some more of my support group. No one on my husband's side though as they too look at me like, that didn't work did it? I hate feeling like a 5 year who needs to explain my actions to everyone. This is MY journey not theirs and they are not welcome along if they can't help supply the gas ( support ) lol.

Good evening everyone just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Doreen I'm 57 and was banded May 4th of 2011. I was 239 when I was approved for the band and 229 the day I was banded. I now weigh 206 . I was 197 at my lightest but my band was giving me trouble so they took out 1/2 cc and I gained 8 lbs back and can't shake it. Saw my surgeon and talked to her about a revision. She agreed and wanted to do the sleeve but the results could be about the same as the band 30 to 60% of weight loss, not from where i am now but from where i started at 239 so I told her I wanted the bypass and she was fine with that. I got my blood work and upper GI in one visit then the nutritious and physic in one visit. All in one week then they put the paperwork in to my insurance co and I was approved in 3 weeks. She called me yesterday 9/11 and wanted to schedule it for the 16th (in 2 weeks). Unfortunately I have so much going on this month and next I had to schedule it for November 4th. I wish I could have it in 2 weeks. I'm excited and nervous all together.

I had a floating hiatal hernia before my LB surgery and my Dr said she fixed it before she started on the lap band. I think she moved it so it would be below my band. I couldn't quite follow her when she was explaining it. I figured she knew what she was doing and it had to be fixed before I got my lap band done. I believe that is still giving me alot of trouble. Some weeks I can eat everything and others I can't eat anything. I hate all the throwing up and wonder what it has done to my esophagus.

Thank you. You'll be fine. The pain won't bother me as much as the confinement and someone waiting on me at home. I insisted on getting up and walking 8 hours after my lap band surgery. I walked straight upright but slow. I refuse to give in to the pain but that's who I am. where are you from? I'm from Mass and I'm having my surgery at Brigham and women's in Boston. Dr Ashley Vernon is my Surgeon. Know my date but I won't know my time until the Friday before.

Hi, I'm new here too. I have the lap band and I'm being revised November 4th to the bypass. I too am nervous, excited and scared all at once. Can't wait for the surgical pain to be over with lol. Looking forward to the journey though. Not looking forward to the pre-op liquid diet. Did it once before with the band but I know I'll get through it again. The Protein drinks I liked the most was the Nector brand drinks, found the taste to be a lot like the crystal light. Love the cherry flavor. Good luck to you.
