Congrats! I am 6 weeks out and from reading this site you can tell all doctors have differ plans lol I could do gasx and my doctor gave of a RX a stronger form of it but I didnt need it...I had to take tylenol for pain every 6 hours the first couple days, I got sf liquid from hospital pharmacy before going home so I didnt have to crush. I was also given liquid oxy but I only used that for sleep for the first 5 days. I was told no vitamins until my 4th week check up and than its just the multi no calcium til 8 week check up. your first couple weeks your just focused on getting water and protein in this alone is an all day job in between walking and napping lol Good luck!

Feeling deprived ... Does that go away?
Truckerchic replied to Mkmb2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They do go away pretty quick, those cravings are in our heads and thru the process your thinking is going to change, not sayin you will never crave anything again but like I said after the first couple weeks they were gone and I think mainly because my thinking changed also.....because of my job/lifestyle I cant avoid eating out, when we do eat out I have no real desire or craving for those warm squishy foods I use to cram down way beyond the point of stop lol now only being 6 weeks out that may change but as long as I follow my I dont really see that being an issue....and believe me when I was at your stage I didnt think it could be true either lol -
Feeling deprived ... Does that go away?
Truckerchic replied to Mkmb2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im about 6 weeks out, the first couple weeks my head wanted my old comfort foods out of habit like at tv time, long stressful day etc but when I really thought about eating them it almost turned my stomach because I was not hungry at all....at this point I have stuck to the letter of my diet and I dont crave anything, the "joys"of eating is going away...which I guess is a good thing...my total focus is on protein not mmmm that sounds good....follow your plan and you will do great! Good luck to you on your big day -
Thats great idea Turn the page! Also have you tried any sugar free cookies? Search for some recipes I bet Bariatric Foodie or World according to Egg Face will have a pouch friendly cookie....make health a family thing!

I use Celebrate Vitamins, they are a bariatric vitamin have to order online but they have vitamins in all forms for each stage, I have the flavor mix to add to my water (3 flavors)and also soft chew multi (2 flavors) and soft chew calcium (3flavors) they will send you a sample pack of almost everything they have for $3 which they give you a code to apply that to first order

I took 2 weeks off and wish I had taken more but had surgery end of Oct right at the start of our busiest month at work so had to...I am an over the road trucker and believe me its more than just sitting doing nothing by the end of my first 70 hour week I was worn out and I still am lol Anyways I found wearing a belly band or compression garment really helped with the soreness, very loose waist band on my pants. Good luck on your wonderful journey!

New to these forums, day 4 after surgery
Truckerchic replied to tkelizabeth's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
At 4 days I was only doing about 40 and wasnt til around 6 or 7 days I got my full 60 grams plus....I know you said full liquids but some docs allow greek yogurt, cottage cheese sf jello and sf pudding....I made sf pudding with protein and also used Unjury chicken soup flavored protein to break up the sweet but my favorite was adding unflavored protein to sf swiss miss ....they say to sip no more then 8oz an hour so go for the highest protein counts helps like Premier shakes have 30 grams of protein, they are premade come in chocolate and vanilla....my first week or so was spent water 1 hour protein next hour and so on all day, I even set a timer lol...good luck -

What does pre-op consist of?
Truckerchic replied to jessiej1979's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mine was meeting with my NUT to go over my pre op diet and I met with the surgeons asst to verify which surgery and gave me my RX for all my post surgery meds so I had them ready...including how to give myself the shots, and than a quick visit to the surgery center where they asked a lot of same questions we have answered a million times lol -

hurting can't sleep
Truckerchic replied to Bobby Smith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was given liquid oxy for pain which I only used at night and I slept in the recliner for about 5 nights....as far as gas along with walking you can try gas x strips it may help again by day 4 it was far less painful. I had a small bowel movement on day 3 ...my doctor said to try Marilax because they dont want you to push to much so just use a stool softener if nothing after 4 or 5...but best to ask you doctor about that but dont use exlax -

The Downside Of Major Weight Loss
Truckerchic replied to TX Patty's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Even though this is ones own personal journey if you are married or have children this is going to change their lives also, as we move thru this process we are so focused on ourselves (nothing wrong with that) that we tend to not realize that this will effect your relationships around you. The ones closest to you love you and support you but who supports them? Some marriages dont survive this, some get stronger.. we can only be true to ourselves, but dont forget them in the process -
