Everyone has a different plan but mine is to keep it around a cup of food total pre meal half of that being protein, than ¼ fruit or veggie last ¼ starch eaten in that order....I am just going on 8 weeks and moving on to this phase I can do about 2oz of chicken and couple bites of some veggie forget the starch lol

Hello and welcome, congrats on making the steps to better your life! I had my surgery here so I cant say much about Mexico other than I have been on here over a year and have known a lot of people who went thru them, I have only heard good but you can search the threads for people who went, also you may end up finding a buddy on here going same time as you so you wont be alone, ive seen that happen too! As far a work, I went back after 17 days, kinda wish I had another week or two but my job is a little different, I see a lot of people go back to office jobs after 2 weeks. good luck to you! -
January surgery & hospital

Just a tip...first 2 or 3 days will be the toughest to get thru, also a cup of chicken broth will help with headaches....good luck to you all and a very Happy New Year! -
I think one of the main reasons a lot of us get fat is because we dont put ourselves and our needs first and when the people around us see us making a change or doing something to better our life, I think it is human nature (for whatever stupid reason lol) that those people are not sure how to process that and because of some of their own short comings in their life they project their negative feelings on to us ... Stay strong and focused, each day you stand up for yourself you will grow more confident and your true friends and family will stand with you!

Yes! And im 8 weeks out, I seem to be a slow loser and my job doesn't help but I can only follow my plan, try my hardest and my body is gonna do what its gonna do -
Im 8 weeks out and like you tried to practice and it was very hard to take small bites and chew chew chew and believe me post op you will learn this quick but one thing you can do which I wish I had was practice the slowing down, putting your fork down use a timer if need this is a very hard habit. I have gotten sick twice so far and both times from eating to fast....good luck!

Once your pc completes your referral for surgery what happens?
Truckerchic replied to Cupcake's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Guess a lot depends on your insurance and the requirements, my insurance required my surgery be done at a center of excellence along with some other things so I had to do a 6 month program....you should call your insurance to find out exactly what your process is so you dont have heartache or disappointment later -

After surgery bathroom issues
Truckerchic replied to iluvmyArmani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you need more water, how much are you getting? Including like sf jello, skim milk broth etc? Bowel movements could slow done because of course your not eating much, 7 weeks out I only go every 2 or 3 days but you should be peeing more and that can be an issue so if your getting plenty of fluids you might want to check with your doc -
Feeling deprived ... Does that go away?
Truckerchic replied to Mkmb2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My tummy growled a lot for the first couple weeks so much so at night that we had to run a fan cause hubby and I would start laughing at the noise and laughing hurt....by the 3rd week it died down and would only growl when I smelt something really yummy...for me it really played with my mind being so use to that starving to death feeling when I heard or felt my tummy rumble but I stuck to my plan and put something in my tiny tummy every 3 to 4 hours and told myself its my old tummy fighting the change...now 7 weeks out very rarely does he grumble...good luck to you -
Lol you doing great Bobby, I know my first egg was like heaven! Our stomach is on the left side of the body so it makes sense thats where is would be tender the longest....glad to hear thats your only issue hope it stays that way, my process has gone very smooth knock on wood ..7 weeks out!

Truckerchic replied to Mid West's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep in mind the 3rd week stall is normal and the scale will move again and if you are starting at a lower weight it may take a bite longer to lose...most losing those 60 plus lbs in short time started at a much higher weight than you -

Week 3 I stalled for a week and half -
It took awhile for that area to not be painful, couldn't even really lay on that side for about 3 to 4 weeks without it hurting a bit. Even deep breaths hurt..lungs pushing on your sore stomach, even though it dont look to bad on the outside major trauma was done on the inside....that being said should the pain be unbearable contact your doctor!
