    Unsure...

What about it do you feel you won't be able to do? The surgery? Following to plan after? I understand about needing someone that has gone thru it, my hubby has been with me every step of the way very supportive but there is so much he doesn't understand (fears, doubts, failure etc) I'm now 10 months out so feel free to ask questions

    Pre-Op Advice

Weight loss surgery for dummies and Alex's book The big book on gastric bypass which he advertise on here are both wonderful step by step before during and after info.. I have both and 10 months out I still refer to it. Practice eating slow now Get a small travel pillow (I used a pillow pet ) to use when getting up for the first few days Belly band, the hospital gave me one but some do not. I wore this the first two weeks when moving around Take your measurements before and monthly, don't just focused on the scale. Good luck!!

One little pearl of wisdom ...

All plans are different as we know, mine allows for coffee in limited amounts as long as I add that much more water to my day so 8 oz of coffee means 64+8 water but I have always drank decaf ...now I enjoy Click decaf protein coffee and Starbucks skinny vanilla decaf and add a scoop of unflavored protein!! Great job on taking steps now, good luck!!!

    RNY advice

Stick to your plan and DO NOT weigh yourself everyday unless your are mentally strong, don't panic when you hit your first stall around week 3 no your not done losing and yes you I'll loss more but there will be plenty more stalls... take your body measurements before and like once a month when scale doesn't move the inches do... walk walk walk the first few weeks work that gas out... good luck!!

    sick already

Everyone is different in what their new tummy will handle and almost like a baby if something doesn't agree with you one day try it again in a few weeks... I have found nothing I can't eat, although some greasy foods make my tummy icky and turns me off to wanting to eat it again. I can handle regular sugar better than sugar free, I do try to eat right but this is a life long journey and some days I do better than others... good luck
  7. Some people become lactose intolerant so using milk could be what makes some sick so you may have to try differ things to find what works for your new pouch, I have always just used water with my powder mixes... 10 months out my go to is unjury flavors, I use a lot of the unflavored as this can be added to about anything including my skinny vanilla latter lol I'm from PA also.. good luck!!!

    Protein drink choices post surgery

I did a lot of the Premier ready to drink chocolate but kinda burnt myself out on them I do like their new strawberry now though but right after surgery I used unjury chocolate and chicken soup for warm drinks, the premier and sugar free instant breakfast for cold.. good luck

    Constipation Issues

This is very common after surgery, it's a combo of high protein and iron and you are eating far less than your body is use to so you will not go as much or often... differ things work for differ people after trying things my doctor suggested I found miralax every other day works for me others try smooth move tea... just don't let it go to long with no movement at all

    Slow weight loss

That's almost 5lbs a week, that's great! Your body went thru a major surgery and total lifestyle change, you will have slow Downs and even stalls but stick to your plan and it will happen. This is a life long journey don't set time limits on yourself that's to much stress

    Knees.

I have bad knees also, for years doctors told me to stretch more or it's runners knee etc and just keep walking and take some joint juice it will go away finally last year after several times of my knee giving out my hubby forced me to see a rheumatologist after a X-ray he found I had some arthritis but also scar tissue built up behind my knee caps... I now get a cortisone shot every 6 to 8 months OMG my knees have never felt so good!!
  16. Constipation here also.. I'm 5 months out but right from the start I've had it I use Miralax one serving every other day and that keeps things moving OK.. I am adding more fiber foods to hopefully help, sugar does not bother me at all
  17. Still go... I am an over the road truck driver and I team drive with my husband, eating out has been our couple time on the road since surgery we still eat out but only once or twice a week compared to almost every day.. I plan and prepare all our meals at home and we just eat in the truck and now that nice weather I coming we sit outside. When we do eat out I usually get grilled chicken or egg whites, the food does not hold the same interest as it did before when we were eating out all over the country hence leading to me getting to 300lbs lol

    bypass expectations

I'm just over 5 months out from bypass, I was in the hospital 1 day and back to work within 2 weeks. I have had no issues what so ever, I don't dump and I have not found a food yet that does not agree with me but I pretty much stick to my plan... that being said we are all different! Good luck to you

New problem: Getting weak/winded at the gym

You may need a few more healthy carbs before your working out, your eating pre work out but it's low Carb try adding something like a piece of whole grain toast, banana etc not a lot just a little something than you want protein after your work out preferably within the hour after
  21. I was going to go with the sleeve but got RNY ....first longer history with the rny, sleeve is still considered a newer procedure as far as long term results... revisions, in my year of classes and research I have talked to a lot of people who got the band or sleeve and still ended up getting RNY including the friend that told me about the sleeve. I only wanted to have it done once... I am a food addict and wanted the most restrictions and limitations on my eating as possible, I have sleeved friends on my fitness pal that eat junk, yes it's their choice not to change their food habits but I didn't want that option of being able to eat a lot of greasy, sugary foods and although many of them have lost great they are very strict on themselves as not to backslide...I am 5 months out and I haven't dumped, I have had no issues with any foods, my blood work is good. I am down 78 lbs and feel great... if you have no medical issues that require one over the other the choice is up to you. Recommended reading The Big Book of Gastric Bypass and there is also one for the Sleeve and Band very detailed pre op, the surgery itself and first few months post... good luck!!

    Wrinkles?!?!?! Help!

OMG I'm dealing with this which I'm sure is common but I always looked way younger and now eek lol I have heard a few people say ROC is good gonna have to try that
  23. A lot will depend on your tummy of course, but once your cleared for all foods you will be able to try some of your favs and make adjustments according to what your tummy wants. Your gonna go thru a 2 to 3 month detox and things may not taste the same after. I am 5 months out and love Mexican food, and that is easy to keep healthy and tasty... good luck on your journey
  24. Click and Chike both have a variety of coffee flavors, Click has a decaf too. Lean Shake 25 from GNC has some good flavors, I just got Banana Cream and Cinnamon Bun. I also have the sugar free syrups and PB 2 just need to find a vanilla you like.
  25. The vitamin shoppe has some, mine doesn't have a lot and they seem to change month to month. I wish they sell smaller containers (any brand) I know it keeps for awhile but I like a variety and don't want a bunch of huge containers or bags
