    Snowed in

Good luck, mine was a total liquid diet and I way over bought lol by day 3 I was hardly hungry and only doing 2 shakes and chicken broth (which helps with the headaches too)
  2. I wish I had done it sooner, I tried but wasn't in the cards. I was 44 now 45. I was expecting stretch marks and hanging skin but I was not prepared for WRINKLES!! Lol I had always looked young for my age and almost over night when from smooth wrinkle free baby face to well my mother, I know it sounds vain but it does bother me a bit. I'm not overly pretty but I passed for cute now I'm a wrinkled mess but thin. Can't have it all, I'll take thin!
  3. I was/ am slow loser, I see post of ppl my starting size losing like it was nothing just melting off and me a pound here and a pound there. Than at around 8 months I stopped losing and realized I had lost over a 100lbs and those same ppl who were losing quick were about at the same weight loss as me. According to my doctor during the honeymoon phase our bodies are kinda on auto pilot some will lose fast some will lose slow but at the end of the phase most will be right where their doctor says they will be. My doctor was dead on as to what I would be at 8 months out. I have stalled now but it's my lifestyle, I'm ok with that because I still follow my plan but can't do anything about my job until summer at which time I can focus on my goal.

    Weight gain and freaking out.

Marieze, yes basically to what you said. Even though one has a small pouch you can still make bad food choices, eat to often or past the point of full. I have never dumped and can eat all the same foods I ate before surgery. People have surgery for different reasons but if one has a food addiction and doesn't address that I could see how some can gain weight back no matter what surgery.

    Plateau already?!

Stress doesn't help either, it will happen just follow your plan and take measurements don't relay just on the scale. Your body is still healing and adjusting, for some it seems to just fall of others may be a bit slower but at the end of the first year most all seem to be around the same percentage lost.

    Weight gain and freaking out.

You may have gained muscle, also your body may need time to adjust to this new form of exercise. You may need to increase your calories a bit on work out days, you don't want to go into starvation mode. Make little changes til you find the right formula for your body. Your doing great though

    How long now ?

Congrats on making the steps! Hard to say since every program and insurance is different, the center I went thru took care of everything and I had a schedule of when things would be done on my first appt. It shouldn't take more than a week or two before you should hear from them but don't let it go to long before calling them. I have heard of to many people that their paperwork get "lost". Good luck

    APPS

What apps do you use other than My Fitness Pal to help keep you focused? I found one few days ago to help get me back on track it's called Bariatric Timer ...helps me not drink to soon and more aware of eating times

Barimelts an all natural, gluten free, GMO free smooth dissolving full line of vitamins made just for bariatric patients... they also have an awesome website which support groups, recipes and info on wls life... barimelts online.... I'm not a Rep or anything I just really like this product after trying so many chewables, soft chews and liquids and finding none I wanted to take long term these are great!!

    APPS

I also use an ICE app with a widget on my home screen, this has all my surgery doctor and medical info at a glance... I thought about getting a medical bracelet and still might but for now I think this is fine

    APPS

Some other cool apps I have found useful are "Water your Body" keeps track of your water intake, tells you how much you should drink for your weight and has reminder alerts... "Monitor your Weight" basically a place to log your weight makes it easy to see at a glance I love this one..."Eat "Slower" just what it says a timer that you set by your plate and tells you when to take a bite you set how fast or slow you want your bites to be

What to bring to the hospital?

Do you know how long you will be in? I was only there 24 hours.. I wore pjs to and from, toothbrush paste, hair brush, phone charger, chap stick and a small pillow to use on my tummy when getting up. Between nurses poking, sleeping and walking it went quick

    Support groups or counseling

I'm 11 months out, a food addict, emotional eater prone to binge eating. Surgery does not fix this and now that the newness new surgery is fading those food demons are popping back up. Because of my job I'm not able to do any support groups other than here or Facebook but hoping to change that at the first of the year.
  14. Have out tried calling them to see what their guidelines are?
  15. Totally understand smiley I drive truck and my days range from 12 to 14 hours and if it's been a stressful day I have to make sure I stay in my truck after work and eat my planned meals I go into truck stop when I'm tired stressed or weak forget it!!

    Vitamin Melts

I am not sure about insurance, they do offer bundle packs and seem to do a sale here and there and have a rewards program... they have a biotin melt but I get them at Sam's club, cheaper and taste good.
  18. My first scrambled egg at 2 weeks tasted like heaven lol at 11 months out I'm still struggling with old ways and since nothing bothers me it's tough so enjoy this period lol good luck keep us posted

    Question about hunger?

I started noticing about 6 months not as bad thankfully now 11 months out if I skip a meal or go longer than 4 hours my pouch let's me know lol try to keep on a schedule of having something every 3 to 4 hours
  21. Hat does your plan say? Most are liquids only for two weeks, it seems like a long time but in the whole scheme of a life long journey it's very short... let your body heal and don't rush.. GNC has a good ready to drink protein called Total Lean, Premier Protein is good, also carnation sugar free instant breakfast is good, I lived off sugar free hot chocolate with a scoop of unflavored protein for my first two weeks lol

    Vitamin Melts

Taste is great very mild and clean tasting if that makes sense
  23. My surgeon does not set weight goals but what stats say one should lose, my surgery weight was 265 I am now 195 at 10 months out that is pretty much all the surgery is going to do for me now the rest is up to me, this is where the surgery is just a tool part comes in :-)

    Question on Weightloss

You will also lose inches even when the scale doesn't move, 2 months out you probably will be down a couple sizes but your best bet will be to get your clothes week or so before your trip. They will fit right and you will get a confidence boost shopping for smaller sizes you can wear at that moment not get something now thinking you will fit in it and have it be to small (or big but that's a plus lol) ..enjoy!

    Feeling stuck :(

Agree with James, what we set for goals are not always what our body has in mind.. my doctor does not encourage setting weight goals just lifestyle changes.. the honeymoon period of the surgery is about 6 months now you may have to play around with your diet and exercise to find your bodies sweet spot to start losing again, lower calories, maybe increase if your doing a lot of exercise, increase protein or water, maybe consider doing a liquid diet for a week to reboot.. good luck to you!!
