OMG October 2013 Post-ops
kkelly37 replied to DevilBlueDress's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So I'm only 9 days out but everything hit me today. I'm already down 18 pounds and I feel amazing. I'm finally starting to feel like I have a future. I'm only 23 and I've not been looking at the future because I wasn't sure how much of one I had. The way I see everything changed today. Looking at my little boy made me tear up. He's getting so big and so smart and now he's going to get to grow up with a normal mommy. I even took him trick or treating before his daddy got off work and continued with them for an hour once he joined us! I just feel so full of life already!!! <3 down 16 pounds since surgery October 22, 2013!!!! -

One week post op today and down 14 pounds!! That feels great!! I've been trying to get these pounds off for so long and now they are falling off with very little effort!! -
How long after surgery did you start doing simple cardio like the treadmill?? I'm a week out today and I know I'm not quite ready. I think I will be soon but I'd like to know when some of you started.

Any October surgeries out there...

Yeah she came and switched me nurses and everything. Dr tanner is defiantly on it. Before I could even finish telling him what was going on he was pushing my call button yelling at the nurse who answered. -

And I needed to stay an extra day because of that time frame with no meds. -

I'm doing good today. Yesterday dr tanner had to go off on by nurse. I went three hours with no IV so I had no pain meds or nausea meds. I went to my X-ray with no meds. When he came in and saw that I had no working IV he was very angry. -

I have to be at the hospital at 630 in the morning. Starting to freak out a little! -
How many nights did you stay in the hospital?
kkelly37 replied to kkelly37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

How many nights did you stay in the hospital?
kkelly37 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm trying to get my child care set up for next week after my surgery so I am trying to get an idea of how many nights I will be in the hospital. My hubby wants to stay with me so we have to rely on family to watch our 3 year old at night. I am young and healthy and I recovered from a c-section from my belly button down very quickly. I was up walking that day. Any ideas on how many nights I'll stay? -
Why do they tell us not to drink whilst eating?
kkelly37 replied to Mid West's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It makes food go down faster which will make you not feel full as long. -
why are there so many "different" requirements
kkelly37 replied to nervous2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's mostly insurance. All my surgeon required was an egd done by him to look for possible complications and obgyn to be put on birth control (and a promise not to get preggo for. 2 years lol). My insurance required approval from cardiology, Pulmonary, a leg ultrasound, a sleep study, and a letter from my pcp. It had nothing to do with age or condition, insurance just required it. I'm only 23 and have never smoked, not diabetic, no family history of sleep apnea... My insurance just required all the tests for everyone. Which dosent make sense because that's more money out of their pocket but that's how it is.
