Considering Lapband..should I? or shouldn't I?

The way the lapband helps me the most is that i am just NOT hungry like i use to be. I can eat whatever i want. It all goes down just fine. But i am making MUCH better choices now because i have much more control. I do not crave things like i use to. It is wonderful. I was a self pay in Mexico also and i am so glad i did it. Donna -

I have completly changed the way i eat. If it is not good for me it does not go in.I paid a lot for this surgery and i mean to make sure it works for me. On the way to onederland!!!! Yea!! Donna

I am really afraid to eat chips or ice cream, or any other junk food. I think that if i start that i will go right back to a lot of bad habits. So i just do not eat them at all. I do not eat any fast food either. Hope to make new and better habits. You have done great on weight loss so far!!! Best of luck Donna -

Does Anyone Ever Forget They Have The Band?

I have only had my band about a month and a half so i think about it a lot.I spend a lot ot time cooking the right things and buying the right foods. I do not eat any junk food or fast food. I spent a lot to get my band and i plan to make sure it works for me. I would rather think about the band, than how fat i was. I am really.......glad i got this band. Donna -

When i think of how much i ate before, well it is a wonder i did not blow up. I am surprised i did not eat the neighbors cat. Now i do not eat anything if it is not good for me. Major difference!! I take SF Jello and SF Pudding and natural applesauce cups for snacks. Some times i take the smallest can of Bushs baked beans and cut up a turkey hotdog in it for lunch.Fills you up and stays with you really well. I also take homemade veggie soup a lot. Donna -

Zannie, So sorry you are going through this. My husband did the same thing about two years ago. He left me for her and of course she was much younger than me and thin. I did not have my band at the time. She told him she was pregnant, but it turned out the baby was not his. Too late we are divorced, but i am doing fine now. It is all very hard and my heart goes out to you. Big hug!!! Donna -

Hi I went to Mexico to Dr. Zapata and loved it. He was very nice and so was his staff. It is also much cheaper and you do not have to jump through hoops like you do here. He does all tests when you get there and i did not do a pre-surgery diet. Hospital was beautiful and so was the hotel. Good luck with your choice. Donna -
