Husband says I am addictedt to lapbandtalk!
DonHoll1 replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am here every day. I need all the support I can get and I get it here and at Band2gether. I love both sites. Donna -
I eat mostly homemade soups. Veggie and chicken. I have very good restriction and sometimes soup just works better for me. I am losing just fine so I guess it is not hurting me. Donna

2nd fill...is this how i'm supposed to feel?
DonHoll1 replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1007, Go slow when you start to eat again. If you have good restriction it is a whole different ball game. You can not eat much and you need to go slow and chew really well. Best of luck. Donna -
In many ways it is like the death of a good friend for me. I was really in to comfort eating and you just can not do that when you have good restriction. You get full to fast. I try to do different things for comfort now. A cup of hot green tea or get on this site, or go to the gym. Donna

True, You get a much better workout if you do not hold on. You can really tell it too. I have been trying really hard not to and i feel it much more in my legs. Donna

Treadmill, bike, anything that makes you move-move-move. Donna

I have always loved the way exercise makes me feel. I used to be a runner several years ago and never had any weight problems. Quit running- got fat. Now i go hiking, love it!!! I also work out at the gym 4 to 5 times a week. You feel so....good when you are done. Lots of water also. Donna

Did You Start With 60 Or Less Lbs To Lose?
DonHoll1 replied to Donna D's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there ! It sounds like you are doing fine. Just think, you only need to lose 30 pounds, not 100 or more. You will get there. Donna -
Andrea, It is a lot easier to keep from cheating if you do not keep any junk in your house. I live alone so that is not to hard for me. I think everyone has been tempted during the holidays, it should get a little easier soon. Best of luck. Donna

Who you tell is up to you. All you really have to say is your watching what you eat. Whatever works for you. I told everyone, but thats just me.I think it is funny though that people are now telling me to be careful not to get too skinny. It is funny because I am still 37 pounds from goal, hardly skinny.Donna

Welcome Nan, and congrats on your band!!! What has helped me the most is water and exercise. Surf the threads on this site for lots of good info. Donna -
I like the show too and I have also wondered how many of them keep the weight off. I loved the show where a group of people walked across country to lose weight. I hope it comes back on. Donna

Wow, so sorry that happened to you. I don`t think he should charge you to fix it. Donna

I have the noises too, but I do not mind. It does not happen that often. Donna

newbie here- question about food addiction and lap-band
DonHoll1 replied to itsme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Once you reach the right restriction ( three fills for me) You really can not overeat on solid foods. You can however eat around the band on soft junk, ice cream, candy, ect. The band does help control my appetite a good deal though, so it is pretty easy for me to stay away from junk. Donna -

Feeling full, stuffed, or not wanting to puke
DonHoll1 replied to Justin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Once you have good restriction (two or three fills) you feel full on small amounts of food. Really full. If you take another bite after you feel it usually comes back up, not good. Donna -
It took me three fills before i felt any real restriction. I would however ask what size band you have and how many ccs are in it. That is info you really should have. You sound like you are doing just fine. Just give it a little time and don`t forget lots of water and exercise. It really helps. Donna

Hope things get better for you in the new year. Donna

Jeri, It sounds to me like you are doing great. I go to the gym about four or five times a week also and I love it. I always feel so good when i leave. I have had three fills and lost 51 pounds so far. I am 54 and i feel great. I love my band! Donna
