OMG October 2013 Post-ops
CaliGal replied to DevilBlueDress's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Today is the first day since coming home from the hospital that I've felt bad. I've been in a general state of funk. I've been nauseated since I woke up and can't seem to shake it. -

Glad you deleted him. But I'd change my profile pic to the following, in case he goes looking for you or sees your posts to mutual friends. -

OMG October 2013 Post-ops

I am so sorry to see that so many of you are struggling so much right now. The beginning of this journey is not an easy one. It's hard to adjust to our new tummies and diets, especially when the rest of the world is around us eating the most delicious smell foods and the food commercials haunt us. But it's really important to remember WHY we chose to make this decision, our health, to feel comfortable in the space of our own bodies and to live more fun active lives. I have got a wonderful support group of people who have been down this road before me and not a one of them regrets their decision. That's such a driving force for me getting through the rough spots. I hope that you all start to get better and over the hump soon. -
I was wondering about the loose skin too, but I don't want to waist money on something that doesn't really work anyway. Be careful with the perpetration H thing. They were talking about it at work and one of the doctors said not to do it, it can cause some really horrible rashes and bacterial infections.

This may have been covered here before, but I can't find it. Has anyone used the It Works body wraps after surgery? Do you feel they helped? What areas did you use them on? Pics would be great to.

My surgeon said to wait two years. At that point your weight should have stabilized.

OMG October 2013 Post-ops

So question, I'm one week post-op tomorrow, and my scale hasn't moved at all. I've done really well staying hydrated, getting all my protein in as the doc said and doing a lot of walking. Is this normal? I didn't expect to loose anything significant this week, but only taking in 300-400 calories a day, I did expect a lb or two. -

Had my RNY at around 10 am on Monday and was up walking by 6. I got up every few hours to walk. I came home yesterday and have continued to get up and walk every few hours. The more I walk the better I seem to feel. I had other patients tell me how much walking helped and it really does. Though I have a steady amount of discomfort I have not had to much pain. I think that walking has played a big part in it. I also notice that every time I walk I start to release those gas bubbles. I hope everyone else starts to feel better soon. -

I'm about 42 hours after surgery and feeling great. I was expecting so much pain and it hasn't been unbearable at all. I'm just doing what I'm told and all seems to be going well. I hope everyone else is fairing as well. It's still a little hard to believe that it's done that my new journey has started. -

Out of surgery and doing well, I've even been up walking already. Pain's not nearly as bad as I thought it would , the gassy feeling from the sur in my belly is the worst of it do far. Hope everyone else is fairing week too. -

Only 23 hours til surgery. I am strangely calm about this. I'm more worried about getting my house ready for the company coming in to help me after surgery. Most of my family doesn't know because I didn't want anyone to spill the beans to my grandmother, she'd literally worry herself sick, but I've thought about making some calls home just to say "hey, I love you", just in case. -

Well, only one week out from my surgery now. I'm not feeling nervous or even excited yet. It's come up on me so quickly and I have so much to get done beforehand. Having a full time job, going to school part time, three kids and a house to get ready for company, since I have family coming out to help me out post-op, has got this girl a little over tasked right now. School has me more stressed out than anything right now. I'm really hoping not to fall behind over the next couple of weeks. At this point I just want to get the next few weeks over with and get on with my life.
