How do you deal with stupidity?

I have always been heavy so when I was in high school there was this guy that asked me if I was pregnant. Inside I was mortified (and trust me I did cry later when he was not around) but instead of letting him see me cry instead I told him that I was pregnant and that it belonged to his dad. He just stammered and his buddies laughed at him. It took the heat off of me and made him look like the ass that he is. I am truly sorry that this guy did this but everyone here is right, you are an awesome person inside and out and he will always be the drunken asshole at the bar. Hang in there!
  2. I work in a small office and am very close with my boss. She is a sweet heart and I adore working for her. She has been very supportive of my decision to have the lap band. Well yesterday we are eating together, me with my campbells Soup and her with enchiladas, rice and Beans. She gets part way through her meal and looks at me and asks me to please finish it, that she cannot possibly. I just sort of sat and stared at her. She knows I am on the liquid portion right now and cannot eat that stuff. I told her I couldn't and explained why. She continued (practically begging me) saying she could not bare to waste all of the food. Ok, so I may have previously been the human garbage can, but after telling her no more than once (and telling her to just save it for the next day) I was a bit perplexed as to why she would continue badgering me. I just don't get it! How do I handle this in the future. I mean lets be honest, liquid phase or not I still will not be able to finish her food for her in the future. Thanks for listening!
  3. As I look forward to moving on to solid food, one question pops up....How big of a bite do you take? I know you have to chew, chew, chew.....but how big should the bite be to begin with. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question...but I really am curious. Thanks!

    Situation I need help with

That is pretty smart to just take it and dump it. She is not overweight. She is actually very thin. I guess I was just a little dumbfounded because normally she is so understanding and very supportive. I thought Maybe I was being a little too insensitive about it but then decided that I wasn't and that she was actually being extremely rude to me. Thank you everyone for all the great suggestions. At least, if there is a next time, depending on my mood, I will have some ways to handle the situation.
  5. Ok, so I am 8 days post op and still on liquids and will be for another week. I must admit that I have cheated here and there. I have occasionally needed something substancial to chew on. Nothing major. I have not had any meat or anything. I have had a piece of toast and at one point I had a couple of bites of scrambled egg. I am so ashamed!! Has anyone else cheated? Have I jeapordized anything by doing this? :help:

  7. Hi everyone, I am so excited to find this forum. I am on day 7 of my new band. I am actually feeling pretty good. I think I expected it to be a lot worse. I am currently on the broth, Jello, liquid diet. At first it was not too bad because I really did not have much of an appetite. Now that I am feeling great I am starting to get more hungry. I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to make the hunger pains subside. :hungry: Thanks!
