  1. I love, love, love babies! (And NOT with french fries and ketchup. Was it W.C. Fields who used to say that? Man, am I showing my age or what?) Seriously, when I worked in the Newborn Nursery (not a NICU like you Dee; we shipped our sick ones out to folks like you!) I LOVED bathing the babies and swaddling them and putting their little hats on their sweet little heads. Good memories. I think working in the nursery was a big reason I had son #2! That little wrist fold is SO precious! Seems like it's the last sign of "babyness" that they lose. I remember my babies had sweet little wrists until they were 3 or 4 years old. Ah, I miss my babies! They turn into stinky little boys too soon!!
  2. So very, very true Mini!! Makes perfect sense to me.
  3. So how'd it go? Oh lord, what a darlin'! My favorite part of a baby is the little fat creases at the wrists. Oh so sweet. (Do I sound like a cannibal or what? Geez.) Happy Bandiversary, Green! You are doing a wonderful job with all of your victories! Me, too! I saw someone today that I haven't seen in a year. She went on and on about how different I look -- I just don't see it! Making a mental note to hit up Kohl's...... I think there's contact information on www.lapbandrockies.com. Hey Deb, WOW -- you're doing great with your loss already! PB stands for Productive Burp, but really it's really more like a barf without feeling sick. Or at least it is for me. I'll be thinking of you next week! If your staying at the Holiday Inn Select, there's a business center with a computer on the first floor to the right of the breakfast area. Drop us a post and let us know how you're doing! Hi Bella, Just wanted to hijack your post to Dee and tell you that you are doing a bang up job on the weight loss so far!! Adorkable, Mare and Lap -- how are ya'll doing with the surgery, endoscopy and MRI/PT (I guess this is a good place to put in the word, "respectively".)?
  4. So much catching up to do!! I'll be back later tonight. Gotta an appointment to get to now.
  5. Dynamo!!! So good to hear from you!!!! I've wondered how you were doing!
  6. I've been away, so did you go or not??? My (very tardy) opinion would have been to do whatever works for you to help you meet your goal!
  7. Good luck, Denver!!!! It will be banding day before you know it~~ I've got faith in you. Let the journey begin!!!
  8. Dee, You will never know how so very glad I am that you've posted again. Big, big smooches to you. MMMMWWWWAAAA! The brighter tomorrow will be here soon. Love, Shelbi
  9. Hey peeps, I'm working for the next 2 days, so won't be posting. I'll catch up with you on Friday. I've got to stop checking this board during my shift, hard as it is for me. I am so addicted to this group! So much can happen in a couple days. Take care!
  10. Hey Munchkin, I think I'd do the wait and see thing, too. Re-evaluate after you've lost more. Enjoy your vacation days and work out a future "just in case" plan for feeding the puppies and taking care of you if you decide to have the surgery another time.
  11. Hi jogirl and welcome! I had surgery at Parker Adventist surgery center and stayed at the Holiday Inn Select across the street (sort of) from the hosptial -- both were great! There's another Dr. K patient, Gurlygirl, who traveled from Canada and had her surgery the day before me. She hasn't posted here in awhile, but she's still around the boards at times. We're glad to have you with us!
  12. Yay, Renee!!!!!!!! Life is looking up for you! What's the old saying? -- So many men, so little time!! Go get 'em and enjoy! You ARE beautiful -- own it, girl! Good on you for your NSV, too!
  13. Mine's visible and easy to feel, but seems to be unnoticable with the support of something snug -- like the top I wear to exercise in. Thank God for PT and MRIs and pain meds! I hope this treatment plan remedies your physical restrictions/pain and you can move the way you want to. It has got to be a major let down to have new found energy from the weight loss, have the desire to exercise and then have a bulging disk. Hang in there and remember to take your pain med before your session. Physical torturers -- I love it! Great name! Hug that little man tight, Granny! Have a safe trip home! Hotmomma -- I just noticed your ticker -- you are 11 pounds from goal, woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to going to have to break out the sugar-free, non-carbonated virtual champagne soon! You are inspriational. Green -- About PBs -- I have to concur with what's been written. My biggest problem is eating too fast (from all those years of sport eating that I did. ha!), but if I do the "chew 30 and count to 10 before the next bite" like Dee, I seem to do ok. I think I PB more than I want to admit because my younger son made the comment awhile back that I've lost weight by vomiting. This was a wake up call for me on several levels: 1) that I need to take better care of my band, 2) that I need to pay better attention to my controlling the eating patterns that got me banded in the first place, 3) that I didn't want to project vomiting as a method of weight loss to my kid. Lessons re-learned. Mare and Ador -- how are you today???
  14. Munchk! Oh lord. I am sending you a huge hug and positive thoughts for strength in the days ahead. Man, that nurse sure let her hiney flap in the breeze, didn't she? What in the world was she thinking! First of all, she should have discussed the situation with her manager if she didn't know how to handle an employee's relative before she jumped in head first and screwed herself over. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I think it's good of you to try to help someone you're divorcing. Take care of YOU during this too! Hang in there and keep us posted.
  15. I PB too, Greenie. You're not alone. I'm just at work right now, and am checking the thread on the QT. Shssssh. I'll wirte more later when my shift ends.
  16. Good morning! I'm trying to catch up here, but it seems like there are some great things happening - new jobs, weight loss, puppies doing better, vacations --good stuff. Mare -- I hope your feeling ok today and keep us posted on that test result. Where oh where is Dee??? Ador -- My scale this morning was 188 -- but I was 185 yesterday??? What is up with that??? Today I feel bloated, so maybe it's water weight? Anyway, I'm down a pound so I'll take it! Happy Monday, folks!
  17. Took me a minute there, too. Does sound good, doesn't it? But not as good as a Little Debbie Pecan Pie. Are those just a southern thing or are they available everywhere decadence is desired?
  18. Yay, us! How tall are you? I'm 5'8".
  19. Go back to page 448. Scroll down to about middle of the page. It's posted by PurpleLady.
  20. Exciting! Hope you hear today. :biggrin2:
  21. His youth, a great inpatient facility and a good support network are all on his side. I'm praying for his progress, too. How are all of the kids doing with this? Your boys and their friends have had so many hard experiences just in the time I've known you here. I know it's a lot for them to process; heck, hard for adults to deal with -- but teens?! Oy!
  22. Hi Denise -- It was a video of still shots from the BBQ. You looked GREAT, my dear!
  23. I'm good -- all filled and rarin' to go! How are you these days??
  24. Hey Mona! Good to hear from you again. WOW, you are doing a fabulous job with that band, girlie!! Don't be a stranger, ok?
