End of July & Beginning of August RNY
waddapane replied to blessed19's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had surgery Aug. 6. So far no reactions to food. Sometimes I forget to take small bites or feel like I am eating too fast. Made extra saucy spaghetti in the crockpot yesterday. Was afraid of a reaction, but didn't get one. Now if just stays this easy! -
I have been doing pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. Prior to surgery I disliked Taco Bell.

I am from Michigan, so getting a great bagel has never been easy! Probably a good thing! One less habit to break!

They are real thin, like half the thickness of a standard bagel. Maybe not in all markets yet. I think either Brownberry makes them. I have bought them pre-surgery. Seems like they would be easier to digest (post surg).
-
Maybe the "skinny" bagels will work. My NUT put them on the list of foods to try in my next phase, starting the 25th.
-
I use Opurity. They are a chewable, taste like a sweetart and only one a day has the daily nutrient requirements. Have to take calcium in addition to this. Can order online from Unjury website.

Soft scrambled egg is allowed on my puree diet. That is the only food allowed that does not have a "yogurt" substance.

I am about half way thru puree stage. Not being very adventurous cuz I don't like the idea of eating mushy food. I like fat-free refried beans pureed w/chix broth, add salsa juice or taco sauce and fat-free sour cream. Another fav is healthy choice cream of chicken soup, chix broth, unflavored protein powder. This week I added some mashed potatoes and it tasted better, more like a meal. Other than that I rely on key lime greek yogurt or soft scrambled egg.

I had surgery August 6. Still on puree. Feeling good. I started back to work and Zumba classes this past week. I think the instructor this morning didn't recognize me! Weight loss & new hair cut/color must have really changed my appearance! So much face fat is gone now! I am down about 25#. Like most, getting protein in is my biggest challenge!
