I think I maybe should try doing it, since I have been on a long stall. What exactly are the "rules"? I have seen the term around some posts, but not specific directions how to proceed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I used to be a type 2 diabetic, that is until the day after my surgery when I awoke to normal blood sugars after being without meds for a couple of days prior to surgery. I haven't taken any meds since. Six months later I do spot check my blood sugar from time to time and have not yet had a reading higher than 86... Even within an hour of eating a meal. I dont know how typical this is, or if it will last forever... but so far this has been my experience.

JoeTheBoss... I have been slackin on MFP lately, gotta get back into it. I'm 4.5 months out and used MFP religiously for a year before my surgery... Lost about 60 pounds that way. Never really had any friends on there, maybe it will help motivate me to use it regularly again! -
Watched 'Forks over Knives' and 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' this weekend. Feeling confused this morning!

If you like documentaries, here's another... Check out "the perfect human diet", I would live to know what you all think about it... It promotes a gluten free, sugar free diet. "Paleo" -
To those who believe WLS is cheating... Well, if that be the case then I'd cheat my way to a longer healthier life in a heartbeat... Wouldn't you? I will happily be a "cheater" for many, MANY years to come!

Try Just Like Sugar, by a company called Table Top. Zero calories, zero sugar, gluten free etc.. It's made from chicory root. I guess I only use it in coffee or tea, but there is also a version of this specifically for baking... Have yet to try that, but it looks promising. Here's the numbers: Serving Size 100 grams Servings Per Container 0 Amount Per Serving % DV Calories 0 * Calories from Fat 0 * Total Fat 0 g 0% Saturated Fat 0 g 0% Trans Fat 0 g * Cholesterol 0 mg 0% Sodium 0 g 0% Total Carbohydrate 97 g 32% Dietary Fiber 96 g 384% Sugars 0 g * Protein 0 g * Vitamin A 0% Calcium 0% Vitamin C 0% Iron 0% *Daily value not established. Other Ingredients: Chicory root dietary fiber, calcium vitamin C and natural flavors from the peel of the orange food Sensitivity: Free Of: Soy, yeast, animal derivatives, MSG, l-glutamic acid, d-glutamine acid, aspartic acid, preservatives, gluten, wheat, and dairy. It is not fermentable and will not promote tooth decay.

Progresso split pea suit.. Good stuff -
Yeah, once you are behind it gets that much harder to catch up. I got to where even drinking water was uncomfortable, eating was out of the question. IV fluids catch you back up. Before the liter of fluid is finished, you start feeling better. I was able to drink comfortably this afternoon, and just ate some soup... First thing in two days! If you think you might be dehydrated, don't delay like I did, it only gets worse... And the cure is easy and works fast! Hope you feel better soon.

That kind of nausea may be a symptom of dehydration. Once you get behind on your fluids, it is increasingly difficult to catch up. Know how I know? - just came home from the ER after getting some IV fluids to help me catch back up. Had nausea for 4 days, couldnt eat or drink much... The fluids fixed me up. Call your doc, thats what I did... I wish you well and hope you figure out whats bothering you.

September Post Ops!

Unjury chocolate splendor has the consistency of chocolate milk rather than a thick shake. Made with skim milk, 8 oz has 29 grams protein... So i find it the easiest way to get the protein in without having to have bigger thicker shakes. I think it tastes like quik! Very good -

I was given a protein shake IN the hospital, in fact my surgeon prefers that her patients finish 2 shakes (and hold them down without issue) before they are discharged.
