I forgot to post yesterday - but I did 30 minutes on ARC Trainer and 15 minutes stationary bike + 30 minutes weights and a finished it all off in the steam room to help prevent soreness. Today was my first day of Couch25K. It was only a 31 minute workout - but I did 2 miles and hopefully by January 1 I will be 5K ready! I usually spend New Year's Eve trying to see how much Prosecco I can drink. Since that is a definite NO this year - I may as well replace that behavior with it being a pre-race night. There is usually at least 1 5K going on around here on New Year's Day.

Refried Beans were a mainstay for me - and still are. the laughing cow chipotle fresco flavor and some taco sauce with them - yummy. Guacamole even makes it better. Greek yogurt. Lots of good suggestions in previous posts. Not in my pureed stage - but soft foods - I ate tons of tuna and chicken salad style stuff. The advice on staying away from the scale for a while is good too. It makes me crazy if I get on it everyday or every few days. Or - I hate to admit- multiple times a day. It is crazy to me how there can be a 2 or 3 pound difference depending on what time of day i get on. That could drive anyone nuts!

Okay - what is everyone doing to deal with their work clothing situation? I have some presentations and big stuff coming up where I need to look professional - but no way I can afford to buy clothes at the rate I am losing. I know that you can check thrift stores - but until I am several sizes smaller - it is slim pickings for plus size work wear in decent condition. Does anyone know of a website or place where people trade clothes or sell their clothes cheap as they are losing?
-
There used to be a consignment shop here that catered to plus sizes - but it closed. The other higher end consignment shops really do not have anything near where I am now (size wise). Maybe I can check some of the bigger cities when I travel and see what I can find!

I have clothes to give away

I am very much in need of some size 24 and size 22 work clothes. I have some big presentations coming up and can not afford to buy new for every size - especially on my non-profit salary. I just found out this board even exists. My e-mail is mcenfinger@gmail.com. Can we work something out? -
45 minute interval workout on the ARC trainer. 653 calories burned.

Great job! That amazing weight loss! Now my doc does not allow salad for quite a while either - but I know different doctors and nutritionists have different plans. I am sure your nutritionist has some ideas if you give her a call. For the first 6 months our big deal is to make sure we get in our 65grams of Protein and 65 ounces of water/liquid. But here are some things I think you can try. Frittatas and scrambled eggs - you could throw in some diced ham and cheese - maybe turkey sausage. It is getting colder - so maybe time for some chili? Saw a recipe for pizza with a califlower crust on Pinterest that someone on here tried and said was great. I made some eggplant parm last night with roasted eggplant, parm cheese, spaghetti sauce, and eggs. It was great. Steamed fish. -
I am 5 weeks out now - so so tired of what i have had suggested so far from my nutritionist. It would not be so bad but I had to go back a stage and stay mushy for another week - so boooring. But not untolerable - and still losing.
-
Tell me how it works for you - sounds good!

I am 4 weeks out and have to go back on mushy for a week. I am tired of the same old same old. I just got on with a friend of mine and he gave me some ideas. Lots of things involve eggs - so depends on what your doc says about that. Weeks 1-3 i was fine with the same few things over and over - it is just now that I want more. But chicken salad, tuna, crackers, babybel cheese, apple banana sauce - those are standbys. Plus of course my "Taco Bowls" with ff refried beans, hamburger meat, laughing cow queso wedge, and a spoon of guac plus some taco sauce. Yummy.
-
^^ funny the taco sauce I bought is actually Taco Bell brand. It is good stuff. And I was afraid that that the tabasco would be hard on my new pouch - but nope. Just good taste and no pain.
-
I am in mushy food stage and was having a major craving for Mexican Food. So - I mixed up a few ingredients that totally satusfied my craving - with lots of Protein and minus the carbs. Fat free refried Beans Lean ground beef sprinkling of reduced fat cheese (I was out of my laughing cow queso flavor wedges) Taco Sauce a few shakes of chipolte tabasco sauce Yummy.
-
I also like the Yoplait Greek - it is great to have all of this variety. Greek yogurt really is awesome to have as part of our high protein snacks and meals.
-
That is on my list to try as soon as I get out of "mushy" stage. I pinned it on my recipe board on Pinterest.

Thanks! -
Hope you get a date on the calendar soon! Mine was August 22 and 7 days out I am feeling awesome!

For my doc - yogurt is week 2.

My son is a mega jerky eater - but I think it is so gross - no way would I try it now with the pouch. It was bad enough with my whole stomach.

For my pre-op I was fortunate that the nutritionist on my team had lots of samples we could purchase - and there was a whole protocol where I just bought 2 weeks worth of Robard meals from her. But my husband and I have drank Protein shakes for years - mostly Matrix. However - now that I am a few days post-op I find that I really like the Bariatric Advantage ones because they are so low volume. Does your nutritionist have access to some samples for you to try at low cost?

I have always loved laughing cow. I used to eat a lot of it on celery. I guess it will be some time before I am back to celery - but next week I should be able to try some by itself. I use it too on the wraps I put in my son and my husbands' lunches. So much healthier than mayo and cuts the need for additional cheese.

Anyone else counting down the days until food again?

I never thought about egg drop soup - smart. I may try some tomorrow - minus eggs and wontons of course.
