    anyone from indiana?

My one year anniversary is coming up. I had it done on Aug. 8, 2007. I have lost 75 lbs. so far. It is getting harder for the weight to come off now. I still would like to lose another 30 lbs. Hopefully by Xmas I will be there. This is a life change and if you are not emotionally ready it will be a lot harder. A lot of things change and the way that you feel. But I would still have it done. To all out there nothing is easy but detemination can pervail. It is our minds that is hard to change the way we feel and how to come to realize how to do that without jeopardizing our health. I hope we all reach our goals no matter how big or small they are. We can do it together with each others support. :smile2:

It is true that all Dr.s are different. My doctor had me do a two week clear diet before the surgery. It was not hard until the very last day and then I was hungry for everything. Didn't do it but was hard. Then I was on clear diet for the next two weeks after and then soft foods for another 1-2 weeks. Hope all goes well and you have a easy time. Yes I am glad I had it done and my was done in Indy on 8-8-07. Down 34 lbs. now.

    August 2007 Bandsters

I just got banded on the 8th. I feel pretty good. Not had any real hungry pain yet. My worse thing for me is the cotton mouth. The pre-op was really easy for me except the day before surgery. I hope the rest will be as easy for me. For all who all waiting to be banded it really is not that hard. Well wishes to all Nancy

    August 2007 Bandsters

Hey I get banded August 8th. I also am a self pay and my is 16500.00 My insurance does not cover it either. Too bad that they don't believe in us the way everyone here does. I am on my third day of liquids. No problem yet, but I am very determined to do it and get the surgery done and over with. I am a little nervous too but want to be healthy too.

Thanks for the encouragement. I really need it. There are some people you can talk to but when they don't have to lose the weight like I do they do not understand how we really feel. It is good to hear everybodies feelings cause they are alot like mine. I am very anxious to get it done. I am from Clinton, Indiana. I really just want to feel good and be very active with my grandkids. I am just tired of being overweight and it controls what I do. I want the control back but I know that I need that constant reminder that I cannot eat that or I will pay the price. Thanks for all the good wishes and I know I will be better off with all my new good friends. Nancy

Hi, I am from West Central Indiana. I live in a small town. I found Dr. McEwen through the Internet. I really liked him and his office helpers. They are all very professional and friendly. I will get my band on Aug. 8th and can't wait. I also am paying for this out of my pocket. My insurance company does not fill that I am worth it I guess. But my husband does. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. So to all of you waiting I know how you feel. Whenever I saw that gastric bypass surgery commercial on TV when the lady says that you are my favorite doctor in the whole world, I wanted to cry. I wanted to feel like that too. With this site I feel I got alot of new found friends and supporters out there that really do care. Good luck to all and may we all be bless with what we want.
  10. I start my ten day pre-op diet tomorrow. I will have my surgery on August 8th. I am excited and very ready for this to happen. I got rejected by my insurance over a year and half ago to have gastric bypass done. I felt like I was worth nothing and would always be fat. But I saved my money and now did more investigation and decided that the Lap-Band would be a better choice for me. I just hope that I can do the liquid diet. I feel very determined right now but in a few days I don't know. It helps reading all the supportive comments that past lap-banders have posted. It has encouraged me too. Good luck to all and keep the positive comments coming. Nancy
