Don't fear.....everyone is different. I had my surgery yesterday and I feel great! I'm recovering at home and taking it easy.....I went on several short walks to get rid of the gas feeling......really....I do feel fine....and my port area is jsut a little tender.....not painful at all.......GO for it!

yup.....had it at tlcb yesterday at 2pm. I had to spend the night since I have sleep apnea.....my nurse, Christina, took amazing care of me.

Until I'm banded..........ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Can any one share with me if you have had the lap band covered? I was told OHIP did not cover it and now a few people (not experts) have told me that they know people who have had it covered by the provincila healthcare????? (not sure how reliable they are??) Help!!! I am self-paying so this is freaking me out.

:clap2:.....of my 10 day pre-op fast (ish).....I'm allowed protein shakes, cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, chicken broth everyday and on every second day I'm allowed all that plus a small plain chicken breast and spinach salad with balsamic vinegrette.......I'm actually not feeling that hungry as I have a cup of protein shake when I do feel hungry....BUT....I'm getting terrible headaches.......I don't know if it's from the low calories or not?........I'll keep at it....... only 8 days 'til the "band".........

Hi Moneylady, I have no idea why some people on here fast beforehand and others don't. I was told to and since I'm spending $16,500 I figure I'll listen. I was told it helps with several things: get's fat off the liver to help with recovery, shrinks the liver so the DR can reach the stomach better when they retract the liver and finally will help get your body prepared for the first weeks of fasting/dieting after surgery.......

yes.....I'm going to the tlbc on July 30th......You? ..I'm still allowed my coffee so it's not withdrawl from caffeine......I emailed the clinin tonight to ask for a suggesstion.......my head is hurting terrible.......maybe it's carb or sugar withdrawl.........

What is sliming and a couple other side effects (with initials) people are talking about?

Mix it with LOTS of ice.....even add some vanilla extract....or rum extract......I even add vanilla to the chocolate optifast and with LOTS of ice.....it actually does taste like a milkshake

I'm excited....and scared.......and OMG.....a new life begins....start my pre-op diet tomorrow.......had my "last supper" tonight......:clap2:
