i can't seem to find the right number yet. I work out 3 days a week and I cross train 3 days a week. I hover around 1800 calories. I am happy with the weight I have lost, my body fat is 17%. (36% pre-op) My biggest fear is if I can't start eating more, I am never going to build lean muscle tissue. There probably is no definitive answer for you or me. Just continue to listen to your body. Best Wishes!!!

New, Nervous, and Anxious
enjoyinglife replied to britleigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 EGD's prior to my surgery. The first one was to look at everything. (They also found a small ulcer.) The second one was to make sure the ulcer healed prior to the surgery. I had a $100 co-pay for each one. I only lost 5 pounds during my two week pre-op diet. I didn't follow it very closely. Best of luck!! -
Awesome!!! I bet you feel great!!!

I took 3 weeks off. I have a job that requires heavy lifting at times and walking for about 75% of my day.

Under Armor is a bit pricey, but I couldn't live without mine. You could try Spanks as well. -

New to site- just starting journey!

Let me be the first to say "Welcome!." I wish you all the best on your journey. My psychologist asked me during my exam if I had ever done any drugs, I replied not yet. He started laughing so hard, he had to stop the exam and collect himself. I looked at him dead-pan and said that food has always been my drug of choice. Needless to say I passed the exam, and he will probably never forget what I said. So, during your exam relax, take a deep breath and just be yourself. I never got the impression that he was looking for ways to disqualify me. I hope you have a positive experience like I did. Take care. -
I agree. I love my trainer. All I had to do to afford one, was get rid of my cable tv bill. If I want to watch tv, I do it at the gym, doing cardio. Thanks Kitt3000!

A microwave and a food scale. I have to re-heat my foods at least twice, if not more during the course of eating. And a food scale allows me to measure out my portions of food. No more guessing or over estimating portion sizes.

Anyone else doing well with weight loss but scared to death you'll screw it all up
enjoyinglife replied to BrantS1976's topic in Rants & Raves
I am not scared that I am going to screw up. I accept the fact that I will have days that I don't feel like working out or eating right. All I am trying to do is be successful 90% of the time. -
How long before you started working out?
enjoyinglife replied to Wallflower7522's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I started walking 15 hours after surgery. I walked around my neighborhood every day, twice a day. At one point I saw a snail pass me. J/K. My point: take it easy and ease into it. I was cleared to work out and swim at the 10 week mark. I also hired a trainer and together we kick butt!! My body fat percentage keeps dropping every month. Best of luck!!! -
I started eating beef jerky around week 12. I started off with the shredded jerky, my NUT wasn't so sure, but I told her I had already been eating the jerky for a week or two. A few weeks after that I started eating the nuggets. I have yet to try a piece of steak or pork, mainly because I just don't have a desire to, same goes for chicken.
