thanks to all for the info I hope everyone has a great holiday. I plan on walking a LOT even before I leave for dinner with my family. I am walking 5-8 miles a day and that I think has been a great help with my weight loss.

Hi All, I don't post, but I do read all the time. I am doing well, I've lost 67 lbs. since July 24th and just have a ?. Does anyone have a place where I can go on the puter that will give info on how much protein in foods. I still drink protein drinks and want to be able to keep track better of protein from just my food. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy, but be careful not to undo all the good work you all have done.

shannon, I have not had a fill yet and have lost 25 lbs. since my surgery on 7/24. I do however walk 10,000 steps per day and eat only until I am satisfied, not FULL as I used to do. I have seen my doctor twice since my surg and he told me some people don't need fills as quickly as others. I still take 1-2 protein drinks per day and I think that helps Cate

Hi All, I saw the doctor today and had my staples removed....that felt so good to get rid of them. He said I could start mushy stuff. For dinner I had 3T chicken, 1T carrots 1T mashed potatoe. It was like a feast LOL. I am so full. I am excited about getting back to work! I hope everyone has a great night.

sunny, I had 2 small pieces of watermelon tonight too It was yummy!

you will find here that each doctor is different. I was banded on 7/24 and I can only eat 2ozs of soup, or yogurt, or cottage cheese at each meal. I am also required to have 2 protein drinks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I shouls have 60 oz of water or crystal light drinks.I must take 20 mins to eat the meal and 1 hour to drink the drink. I think the amount you are doing might stretch your stomach. Just MHO.

I hope the meds kick in quickly. If you don't get the help from the doctor tomorrow....find a new one. I don't think anyone should have a doc they don't feel comfortable with. I hope you are better asap!

Hi , good luck to all going in this week to be banded. I saw my doctor today and he told me to continue with the tylenol for pain, gas x and added Imodium 3 times a day. He changed my bandages and said I am healing well. I will see him next Monday to have the staples removed and get back to work. God bless all you guys going back to work so early.

hi all, I am no support for anyone else. I am still feeling lousy. The gas pains are better, I live on gas x but I have lost 11 lbs. since last Tues and I feel that is too much. I also get sick to my stomach at the smell of food cooking. Has anyone else lost this much in 6 days post op and are you sick at the smell of foods. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow first thing. I wish I could say I am happy about this surgery, but right now I think it's getting the better of me.

I was told I couldn't swim for 2 weeks by my doctor.

today is a little better for me. I ended up calling the doctor because the gas pains were so bad. So far this has no been a cake walk, but I hope the next day or 2 improves how I feel. I am taking only tylenol now for pain and gas x strips. I am having trouble eating. Everything tastes lousy.I have lost 6 lbs in 2 days.

Hi Eileen, I was banded tues and I am having trouble sleeping as well. I am taking liquid ibruprofen for the pain. I sleep on my side and when I roll to either side it hurts. I figure this should only last a few more days. Lost 3 of the 5 lbs I gained from IV fluids though

Kathy, You should be fine....you did 6 days and some people don't have a preop diet at all. Good luck tomorrow. We're all thinking positive thoughts for you.

Hi All, Wow, was there a lot to read. There was a hot doc in the holding room that gave me my sleep meds.....His name was Joe and he had kids...that's all I got before I was out cold. But I am back and banded. I had trouble with scar tissue but was still able to get banded , I had a reaction to the pain meds and was monitored closely til midnight of my surgery. I have a little pain now that I am home and walking around but am taking liquid ibuprofen for it. All in all I think the surg was much easier than I expected. Good luck to all coming up this week.

chim, good luck to you. I will be thinking of you . good idea not to go home alone. I have a husband here and 2 kids. My husband will probably be useless LOL, but my kids are 19 (twins) and so good to me. They will give me all the TLC I need.

I wish all luck tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 5:45 AM 7:30 surg time. I am ready.....I too have to stay over night and then have an x-ray before being released to make sure all is in the right place. I am quite amazed at the difference in different doctors and requirements for this. I think I will have trouble getting to sleep tonight. See you soon.

Jackie, Good luck tomorrow. I'll be banded the 24th, so the next time we "see" each other we'll be bandsters! I'm overnight in the hospital so I'll post when I get home later in the week. Take care.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I am struggling today with hunger. I had to shop for food and that didn't help at all. I can't wait to be done with this pre-op diet. I came so very close to cheating as my family ate dinner this evening. But I didn't! I keep looking towards the big picture and that is me....not being big anymore

My name is Cate and I will have my surgery next Tues. the 24th. I am on day 7 of my pre op diet and have lost 10 lbs so far. I have learned a lot in the past few days reading the posts. I am so glad I found this site. I have high hopes for this band. My only concern is that they will find too much scar tissue from a previous surgery and not be able to perform the lapband. I just have to hope for the best. I don't know if this will even show up as I have no idea what I am doing. LOL.
