TMI... Things that are stuck I've been able to get back out by massaging and pressing gently on my pouch.
-
I remember all of this. Everyone kept saying it will get better but you don't see any end in sight. But they were right, it does get better and it's not that far away. I still have some issues but they aren't nearly as often and I've become accustomed to the little things.

Have any issues telling men about your surgery?
TX Patty replied to tkelizabeth's topic in The Gals' Room
I'm a very private person so I really didn't want anyone to know unless it was necessary. I don't blame you for not telling, it's no ones business really. -
When I met my husband I was curvy, he says it's what he was attracted to at first sight. I noticed that he really hadn't been saying a whole lot about how I looked now and I thought it was strange but didn't give much thought. When I told him that reached 70 lbs lost, again, not much was said. So I pressed him for his thoughts. Now that I'm a baggy size 9 and feeling healthy he tells me I'm too thin and he would like me to put on 20 lbs. um what? For one, it's not possible to gain weight given the small amounts I'm restricted to eat. And two, why would I want to? I'm mere pounds from my goal weight and the size I was before children. I just can't do it, he'll have accept me the size I am.

The Downside Of Major Weight Loss
TX Patty replied to TX Patty's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
At the end of the day there is nothing I can do about how he feels. He just needs to put on his big boy pants and suck it up. The surgery literally saved my life. I had out of control diabetes and now my glucose levels are normal, if I gain weight I run the risk of the levels rising again and that's just not an option. -
Yes, I did. But I don't now. I was so sick and in so much pain for so long that I asked my doc to put it back. I've gone from a size 18 to a size 9 almost 7 and I feel healthy.

I get the feeling, from these forums, certain people believe they know what's best for everyone. It's a bit annoying, I'd have to agree. Give an opinion when it's asked for. I do notice, though, that they don't post their stats. Curious observation. My doc gave me a binder and it doesn't reflect their opinion in any way. Congrats to you and your wife!

Anyone else still able to tolerate all foods?
TX Patty replied to ChristyC23's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I thought it was just me. I'm relieved I'm not the only one not tolerating chicken. I don't eat bread much because I'd rather have more good stuff. Like the other day I had a slice of pizza and only ate the toppings, that.was.awesome! -
Yup, can't sit still for having to readjust every couple of minutes. Freezing all.the.time but I live in Utah and it's winter, about 35 out right now. I found some fleece lined leggings and bought a pair in every color. I live in them!

Time To Give Up On This Site?
TX Patty replied to Mid West's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a creature of habit so I'm not loving this new site. -
Ditto Seela. I think it's more surgery pain than hunger.

I'm from that area but I live in Utah. Not that that helps. Good luck!

I might have a stricture. Have you had one?
TX Patty posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to the doc for my two month post op and let him know that I can't seem to keep most solids down. He wants to setup an endoscopy. Tell me your stories. Does it hurt after? Is there recovery time? Will I be starting over? -
How much weight have you lost
TX Patty replied to PrettyMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
10 weeks and 60lbs. But I had an endoscopy today because I'm still not tolerating solids and they found that the hole leading out of my pouch was smaller than a pea. So I've been starving. -
I just learned that I didn't change cup size from D to C. I'm popping out of C. I need to get measured properly like pear said. Good idea.

TX Patty replied to margomarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I have not needed insulin in 8 weeks, I was at over 100 units a day pre op. My endocrinologist told me this surgery saved my life, the diabetes was literally killing me. Congratulations! -
I might have a stricture. Have you had one?
TX Patty replied to TX Patty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh man, I hope I'll be able to eat after. I've lost so much weight so fast that it has to be a blockage. -
I might have a stricture. Have you had one?
TX Patty replied to TX Patty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, if it's a stricture it's scar tissue blocking the full passage so they have to look. To see what it is and will most likely do what needs to be done while they're in there. Even when I eat slowly and chew it thoroughly it still comes back up. This must be close to misery. -
So far I've gone from a D to a C.

How many nights did you stay in the hospital?
TX Patty replied to kkelly37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed four nights. I wasn't breathing properly and had to have a blood transfusion. -
Obsessing with the scale!
TX Patty replied to JamieC1028's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is so so different. Based on the above information I shouldn't have lost as much as I have. I don't know if it's because I'm diabetic, which was the reason for my surgery, or something else. I'm bad too, I'm on the scale everyday. It's so hard not to.
