Hi Everyone! I just got banded on 7/17/07 and am still in my recovery stage. I'm so glad I found this site so I can find answers to all my questions! I must admit I was feeling pretty low yesterday as I started to wonder what the rest of my life would be like, however, all the posts I've been reading are very positive and they give me hope for a happy lap-band life! Thank you to all! ~Mindy

I am proud of my decision to get healthy so I tell EVERYBODY! I even show them my incisions so they can see that the surgery wasn't so bad. I'm so happy I got my lap-band! I'm wearing a ring today that I bought myself before surgery (one size smaller) that finally fits! Hooray!!

My doctor said it can be hard to find a doctor in the US that will do the fills on a patient from Mexico. He even said that he's heard of people returning from surgery in Mexico only to have a port - no band! Of course, he might have been trying to insure I would chose to have my surgery with him! I know this, I paid more, but I felt very comfortable knowing my doctor was right here in Las Vegas if I needed him!

I feel just like you and I also was banded on 7/17/07. Glad to hear we are doing fine - normal is good!!

Hi Jen! I had Dr. Soong for my surgeon as well! I felt very comfortable with him and found him to be a great doctor! So far so good... I feel better every day! Best of luck to you, Jen! ~Mindy -
7/17/07 was my surgery date too! I'm feeling better everyday after the procedure on Tuesday! I hope you're doing well too!
