I am creating a schedule for my meals, vitamins, and water intake for the first few weeks post surgery. I understand we need 64 oz of water daily, and that it will be hard to get it all in. Do the shakes qualify as part of the 64 oz of water?

Any October surgeries out there...
sallyo replied to debbiedenise's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OK it is getting better each day, thank goodness. I was having a little of buyers remorse. The pumpkin belly (from the gas) and added weight was a surprise, but after 6 days I am getting closer to normal. Two weeks of liquids seems like a long time. It's not hunger (gads, I can't get in the protein and fluid required), its mourning the loss of food. I knew to expect it, but thought I would be more resiliant. This will be a process I can already tell. I have an appointment with my bariatric therapist in a few weeks; she's seen patients like me for years and approaches wellness through a behaviorial change. My husband, while he is usually a dear, has totally missed the mark at how to offer comfort or support. At day 4 he's telling me to get on with it already. No sweet words, no softness. More like cracking the whip and telling me to buck up and walk. Geez, I'm having to give him lessons in how to be empathetic. -

Well it's done. On the 16th. Came home today. Did (and still do) have nausea and dizziness from the meds. Walking just fine; trying to get rid of the gas. I only lost 4.5 lbs on the pre-op diet, which was disappointing, and after the surgeryI weighed 9 lbs heavier. Yikes, didn't expect that. Wish we could fast-forward through this section. Now just sipping, sipping to keep hydrated because they said the most common reason for return to the hospital ER was dehydration. Cheers my October friends. Sally -

My Nut suggested Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast, made with skim milk for extra protein. This has none of the fake shake flavor or texture. She said this would be a fine option instead of the why protein shake.

Lap Band to RNY Revision
sallyo replied to JustFluffy's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
It's been some time since you posted about your revision from Band to RYN. I am having mine in 3 weeks; the Band caused terrible reflux and I had the fill removed two years ago. Now that some time has passed, how do you feel about the RYN. Any suggestions? -
How do you use the PB2?
