If, previously, she was talking about being full-figured and fabulous and lovin' herself and then, after her weight loss, she admitted to being very unhappy with herself, perhaps it just means she's human like the rest of us. I wonder if, like many people, she felt (justifiably so) that being severely obese causes people to judge you unfairly. Not wanting to be seen as the bitter, low-self esteemed fat person causes many people to be the outgoing, sassy, life-of-the-party, "livin'-large-and-lovin'-it" fat person who everyone loves to be around. If they're bowled over by your force of personality, glitz and glamour, then they won't dismiss you out of hand, or pity you as a poor, fat, lazy slob. Nobody wants to be pitied.

    Man, am I bummed!

lljpaisley, be encouraged! 46 pounds is a HUGE weghtloss! It is coming off slowly and beautifully. :clap2: Go 'head on, girl. Work your mojo! I work with a young woman who had a bypass a year and a half ago. People do have the bypass with little ill-effects but she hasn't been so lucky. She has had so many complications that she has spent more time at home ill and in the hospital than she has at work. Kidney stones every few months, major adhesion problems, 7 more surgeries, she has to take a medicine EVERY time she eats so that it won't hurt! She can't even enjoy her food now. Oh, she's thin, alright...frighteningly so...she's malnourished. Unfortunately, food has now become her enemy. She's such a sweet girl and I feel awful for her. If you ask her if she would do it all again...she would say "yes: because it saved her life. She didn't chose the LapBand option because she felt the weightloss was too slow. Now, I suspect she wishes she had taken that option. She's only 26 and I don't know WHAT she's going to do when she decides to get pregnant. You made a wonderful choice that, in the long run, will be much better for you and for your health.

Can anyone tell me how the Barix Clinic insurance department works? Does your PCP in anywhere or do they do all submissions of your insurance paperwork? Thanks!
