constipation
chocolatetre' replied to chocolatetre''s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everybody. I do believe one of my issues may be not taking in enough water. I have to do better with that. And since I just got on the soft solids, I've been really enjoying the low fat cheese sticks which may also be causing the constipation....I see my surgeon tomorrow for my 1mth post op. -
OMG I am 4wks post op and craving a big fat Cheeseburger with bacon....OK, I feel a little better since I got that out.

August 2013 surgeries
chocolatetre' replied to daisykarebear's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had to report to the hospital at 12pm and I was headed to surgery by 2....I went to admission got checked in and went straight to the surgery area, where an IV was started and then i meet with the surgeon and anesthesiologist and they let my family come in for prayer, they gave me that feel good medicine and then i was headed to the OR. My surgery lasted about 2hours, I had to hernias to be repaired. It will go pretty fast and you will be fine!! -
I took six weeks off, i wanted to be absolutely sure I was ready. Im bored at being home now, but Im glad I took the additional time because I am still battling with some issues.

CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!
-
Trust me Grace you are not alone. I almost 4wks out and this past Tuesday I had a a severe breakdown. It just all became overwhelming, the surgery, I had stalled, it was the first day of my cycle. I literally thought I was losing my mind. After praying, I called someone to get me out of the house ASAP. The change of scenery will definitely do you some good, walk and most of all give your body a chance to go through its confused state. Its a normal process. And being apart of this group and reading stories of ppl going through the same, will give you further clarity about it and show you that you are not alone. Be blessed and feel better.

Problems with Cold beverages.
chocolatetre' replied to Shear Diva's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have to have everything ice cold. I cannot tolerate anything else!!! -
I have been having sleep issues also. I never really was an early bird in going to bed, but now its worse and I've been trying not to take anything over the counter or prescribe. I go back to work on 8/19, so I really have to get it together soon.

Thats weird, I thought I was the only one. I found some great low sodium sliced dills, and they are amazing. Just what I needed. I am 4wks on the loser bench and can now have soft solids.

3 Week Post Op
chocolatetre' replied to chocolatetre''s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please dont mention PROTEINl....UGH. That is the hardest thing for me to tolerate. I have looked up different recipes for mixing the shakes and nothing is working for me. I dont think I have had 60g since my surgery...I have to try harder though. My husband and I got into an argument tonight about it, and I promised I would try harder. I know I have too. -
Question about drinking
chocolatetre' replied to manahane03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 4wks post op, and I have the same problem with fluids. I have to drink water when its ice cold and with a squeeze of lemon/lime. I can also tolerate hot tea...anything luke warm does not sit well with me at all. -

I have does days too. Those break downs can be scary, bit we just have to encourage ourselves with the reminder of why we had the surgery in the first place. Nice to meet you too, keep in touch. -
You look awesome. True motivation for me. I am 4wks post op...
