  1. Hi I'm two & 1/2 weeks out from surgery. At time of surgery I was 223. So far I've only lost 16 pounds, 207 lbs. I'm on my liquid diet & I gained "2 lbs" was 207lbs now 209lbs. I drink powerade zero, my stomach isn't tolerating water. I do get my soups from Olive Garden, pot belly, & panara bread. I'm shure there not the best choices but it's only two Tbls, twice a day & my stumach has always been finicky so if something actually sits well I eat that. Also my protein drink is called core power, which I love & only 100 cal/20g protein but there's 11g sugar. Could this be why I've gained weight or stalling weight loss? please let me know.
  2. I am so afraid of hair loss, so I'm going to try the premier, & at the hospital where I got my surgery they have ungery so I'll give that a try too if the premier doesn't sit well. It's so hard when my family eats dominos pizza & McDonald's & subway, Culver's & Arbys. Sometimes I'm tempted to take a slice of dominos & lick it. But I don't, I'm a good girl. But the temptation is so hard. Ugh, I find it so hard with all these foods I used to eat & love smelling up the house. I'm 3weeks now & I was told one protein drink a day but it just seems odd when were not getting protein any other way. Has any of your Drs. or nutritionalist said any different ?
  3. Im two weeks out from my surgery ( gastric bypass ), I'm 208 lbs. this is thrilling for me I haven't been anywhere near that wait for over 17 years. My problem is I look the same, pants are still tight, tummy big as ever, shirts still won't lay flat. How can this be? Yes I believe my boobs may be more saggy & people say my face looks thinner, I don't see it, I think because they know about my surgery they are searching for something nice to say. I can't believe I lost so much weight with nothing to show. Also I'm still on clear liquid diet & I'm hungry all the time! I thought I was supposed to feel full.????
  4. Thank you all. I will definitely try premier protien drink. I do have a membership to SAMs club too. Good to know were to get it in bulk if it goes down well. I did try cooking in my crock pot, was quite the experience. Defiantly not a cook. Lol although we just got a whole Foods were I live & found some soup that has only 3g fat & 3g sugars. That's got to be better then pennara & Olive Garden or pot belly. Haven't tried them yet but hopefully good. Thanks again for all the support & prayers. I'm trying to do this w/ four teenagers & the two boys have bleeding disorders & one son with autism, although... Even with the medical issues & autism they are still much easy'er to handle then the two teenage girls. Ha!
  5. Thanks for the positive message. I carry a lot of fat in my stomach & what you said sounds just like what I'm going thru. You were smart to talk to your Dr. I don't have that type of access but there's a nurse were I go who said I can call any time or come in for free visits. I guess I forgot I have this option available to me. Also I think I'm going to buy some sweat pants! Also do you or anyone else feel like muscles in your side & abdomen are sore from my stomach starting to sag?
  6. Thank you DL Cloggin, I'm so glad I found this sight. What you said was so important for me to hear. Nobody told me any of this, not the nurses, or Dr, even the nurtritionalest. What you said makes so much sense, I can't wait till the nerves in my stomach start working properly. It was scary to think I went through so much to get here only to feel hungry all the time. I also can see how the brain is playing its part. I feel like a drug addict because my brain keeps telling me "I need the food I crave, I need the food I crave, my day will fall to pieces if I don't have it." Weird thing is that is what exactly happens. I get panicky, listless, down, and edgy. I notice every little thing that goes wrong or is a challenge in my day & fixate on it, if my husband has a certain look on his face or uses a certain tone of voice I get snippy. Which convinces me even more that if I had that doughnut & coffee my life would be better. Thus I know having those things in reality will make things worse but the voices are still there.
  7. Thanks for the advise, it will be hard to find a new Protein drink. This one is pre-made and not thick it goes down so smooth with no after taste. My stomach is very particular, if something smells funny, I'm nauseous. If I look at food that is slimy or bloody ect, I'm nauseous. If food has a bad taste or is gritty or leaves a bad after taste, I'm nauseous. These nauseous feelings have led to throwing up, hart burn, & the sweats. My parents stopped saying "just try it" along time ago. Lol The Protein drinks I've tried are: muscle milk (both powdered & pre-mixed), EAS Advanced Edge, EAS Myoplex, ensure , Special K, stuff from lifetime fitness, pure protein ready to drink, boost, Isopure all of which made me nauseous & threw up after one. If anybody knows of any Liquid Protein drinks that are real good, please let me know. As for the weight gain you were right I just weighed myself & I went down to 205lbs. Also I'm taking your advise on the home made Soup, problem is I'm not a cook, but I have a crock pot & the will to try. Thank you so much.
  8. Thank you I'll try that, I have a pic they took when I began the process but it was with a Polaroid & I was way to far back. I don't like the idea of it but maybe I'll have to try one w/o my shirt on.????

    Introductions

    Hi I'm a Minnesota too. I went to unity too & had Dr. July. I'm kinda concerned about the all liquid diet. I was told drink water every 15 minutes & I've done this religiously. I've had chicken broth???? and sugar free hot coco & add it to lactose free milk. I'm so tired of eating these things. I've looked up support about first weeks & any good clear liquid ideas. But so many aren't following what is written & told to do. I'm not a goody too shoes, but to take this weight off. I've not had the full feeling that I was told I would. I'm starving all the time. Ugh ! Am I doing this wrong? Can I eat more the the 3 times a day ? I mean during my water every fifteen minutes or after? Like jello or do you know of anything els I could eat along with the clear liquids. Also have either of you had the feeling of being hungry all the time.
  10. Hi first I need to say I'm new to this, not only new to the sight but new to social networking except for Facebook. Lol so if I make any mistakes I'm sorry. My situation is... I've been ok'ed for surgery & ever sense I found that out I can't stop eating. I'd given up all sweets, and pasta ect ( I'm a diabetic) I lost 25lbs and was near my goal but now I'm hungry all the time & I'm eating sweets again, like "ohh a snickers bar I won't be able to eat that again so I'll have one now & culver's cheese curds, root beer floats ect." I had completely gotten off all of this to the point where if my husband & kids were eating those It wouldn't bother me (sometimes) lol. Has anyone gone thru this? This has effected my blood shuger & weight & I'm not focusing on my goal & am starting to think maybe this is not for me. I'm 228, 46 yr old, diabetic, high cholesterol & blood pressure & a major history of heat attacks in my family. Thanks Daly444

    Last supper effect

    Hi everyone, I'm happy to report my pop issues have gotten a lot better. The advise I've gotten here is priceless. Reastruaunts still hard when everyone's enjoying there pop but my crystal light helps. I'm still working on that last supper effect although I wouldn't call it that now. I was given pop to drink for breakfast/lunch/dinner ever since I can remember & cold Turkey just about ruined me. So durring the time my brain was having tantrums I started to crave more food. I'm shure the last supper effect didn't help because with that I was already eating what I was going to miss after the surgery. So I'm putting this down in text to encourage & reinforce to my self the fact that I will start eating better now. I just hope it's not to late, this comming Friday I see the nurtritionalest for the last time, the nurse will be there too. I've been ok'ed for surgery so this is finnal vist. I'm scared I won't have lost enough and I really don't want to show my food logs from the last couple months. If I tell them what I've been through ( last supper effect/pop issue ) I know I'll have to see the physic guy again & he's a real jerk (even my husband thinks so), if I get back on track like I posted I would and if I haven't gained as much as I think, would it be wrong to omit these two issues I had especially since I've been working so hard to overcome them. I really'ed appreciate your advice on this. Thank you

    Thank you so much for your help! I've tried the crystal light, love it! Also comes in small convenient packages I can put in my purse. ???? Music 1618 you are so right! My mind has become a two year old, terrible two's, lol but really it feels so good to know why things are happening and that I'm not alone. Also seofe5 I will be going to SAMs club this weekend & I plan on looking for styrofoam cups & lids, I'll let ya know how that goes. Thanks to all this is the best app. ????

    Last supper effect

    Thank you for all the support & good ideas. The list is a good one & so is moderation. I'm not good at moderation I've had to go cold turkey on all my emotional go-to-foods, the one I'm having the worst time with is pop. My nutritionalist told me she wouldn't give me the ok for surgery unless I stopped. I drink diet caffine free coke but she still says no go. ???? My worst is fountain pops, I now have to pay at the pump so I can avoid going inside & seeing the vast selections of succulent sodas, the hum of the machine, the rolling crunchy sound the ice makes while being made & the squeak of the straw going into the lid. Ugh ???? pure heaven. I've gotten so depressed & irritable that I have to go lay in bed till it passes. One place that's really hard is reastraunts. All they carry is pop, orange juice, milk ( lactose intolerance & just don't like it ) apple juice, lemon aid ( dietetic to much shugar ) & I've never been fond of tea, & coffie. Water can get SO boring! Does anyone know if its ok to bring in your own beverage? I like to put a little cranberry juice ( not concentrait ) in my water but I don't want to get in trouble. Also any other ideas on what to drink besides water & cranberry juice? Any one else have a problem stopping pop? I had no idea how addicted to pop I am or that any one could be addicted to such a thing. Ps) sorry so long & I would have responded sooner but I forgot my log in info.
