Anyone Have Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery In Cancun, Mexico?
thermo2000 posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am planning on having Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery in Cancun, Mexico in October 2013. Has anyone had any gastric bypass surgery in Mexico? -
How's the liquid diet going for you? I am not the best, but I'm doing my best.

Smoking and Gastric Bypass
thermo2000 replied to thermo2000's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Still smoking and surgery is Friday. Yikes!! I did by an ecigarette yesterday. $37.00 and I hate it. It takes like a cigar. Not that I ever smoked a cigar. Fortunately, I am paying for my surgery and it is in Cancun, Mexico, so there won't be a nicotene test. BTW, I had accupunture, wellbutrin and hypnosis. Nothing so far has worked for me. But, I think you have to want to stop and to be honest, I don't want to. Sad, I know. Good luck to those trying to stop and to those that have stopped, congratulations. I hope someday soon, I will want and do, stop smoking. -
I am a smoker. Not good, I know. However, I honestly don't think I can even cut down on smoking before my surgery in November 2013. Has anyone ever walked a mile in my shoes? If so, how did you make out? Thank you.

what pre op diet helped you most?
thermo2000 replied to elizabet33's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I copied this from another site. All gastric bypass patients are encouraged to consider the placement of a silastic ring. The procedure is the same as is performed for Gastric Roux-en-Y with one modification: a silastic ring is placed around the pouch just above the connection between the gastric pouch and the bypassed intestine. This creates additional restriction for patients, and many surgeons believe that the ring helps patients avoid weight regain in the long term. -

From what I found so far, it's for a vertical gastric sleeve. Still looking into it. -

Walmart has great "light" apple juice. xiomara - I thought we couldn't have caffeine? -
Wow. Go Lissa. I never, ever drank a soda, coffee, or beer but I can imagine how hard that is. A lot of people are addicted to soda. Me... have to have my decaf, sweet n low tea. Yummy.

Thank you Trucker and Turn. I will do my best. My doctor (another country) has requested that I at least cut down. I will do my best. That's all I can do.

Men and babies love our boobies because they are nice and soft and snuggly. Men don't care what your boobies look like. They just want to touch them. The softer, the better. Just ask your significant others. Also, my mother (whose is 85 and married to my Dad for 63 years) always taught me to enjoy your intimate time with your partner. If you keep complaining about being fat in the bedroom, that is worse. They don't see us the way we see us. Also, she taught me to enjoy the aerobics in the bedroom, because when you get older, you can't do those kind of aerobics anymore. Boy, oh boy, was Mom right!!! Always is. lol
