November surgeries?
KristieRerouted replied to fs_newme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't. I was approved on Sept. 4th and didn't get a date until about a week after all my pre-op stuff was done on the 3rd of Oct. My surgery was scheduled for about a month and a half after that (my surgeon has a conference or something to go to which delayed it by a week or two). Each facility has its own procedures. Some give a date and get everything done in the meantime, others wait to make sure they have all the data b4 you're even scheduled. -

November surgeries?
KristieRerouted replied to fs_newme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just found this thread I am scheduled Nov. 14th (still waiting for a surgery buddy ) @ IU Health North in Carmel Indiana. I had a running calendar of all the dates on the other thread and, now that I've found this one, I've added you all to it too Please let me know if I missed you and your date -
Major bummer!! I'm kinda surprised the stop smoking is just now an issue! I had to pass a nicotine test before they would even schedule my surgery. As far as your boss, there really isn't any way your boss can stop your surgery. He is required by law to allow you up to 12 weeks AND hold your position provided you have something from your doc saying you CAN'T work. He can request and you can choose to comply but he can't make you wait. However, based on what your surgeon's office said it sounds like its not an issue at this point. (((HUGS)))

Oh no Did it get cancelled for good or are you planning to reschedule? PS. Sorry, I apparently missed your post on your date because you weren't on the calendar. I just wanted to let you know I wasn't trying to exclude you... I just missed it somehow

We share a surgeon but I'm pre-op. I have "heard" many ppl complain of left side pain post-op. A good online friend had her surgery and the pain persisted for 4-5 week b4 it subsided. I believe its pretty normal. Prayers it goes away soon for ya! Congrats on making it to the bench. -
.. Its a secret group which means if you aren't a member and haven't been invited you won't even see the group so you deff can't see the posts within. Hope that helps

Can you all recommend some affordable, not-so-sweet Protein powders? I know there is unflavored unjury, which I plan to get, and unjury chicken broth flavored powder, which i am considering, but are there any flavored protein powders that are kinda sweet'ish. I have a powerful sweet tooth BUT can't handle things that are too sweet.. and I'm PRE-op. I can only imagine that sensitivity getting stronger. I'd like a powder with a hint of sweetness but all the ones I've tried are very, very sweet. I'd forgotten how sweet they are until today when I made one (been a few months since the clinic told me to stay away from them because I'll be sick of them post-op, better to to make a bad thing worse by getting sick of them now) but I was trying a recipe for a caramel frap Protein Drink and 2 hours later I sit STILL trying to get it down (not even half done) because its overwhelmingly sweet Any ideas?? To draw an analogy that may help you to understand my position on sweet, think about cake. Imagine there are 3 types of ppl in the world when it comes to sweets. Ones that don't like cake at all (prefer salty to sweet for example), ones that like the cake but not the icing because its too sweet and ones that like the icing BECAUSE its so sweet. I fit in the second category. Literally. I like cake because it has a subtle hint of sweetness but hate icing because one bite and I've had more than my fill of sweets.
