  1. Ok so Disneyland has been my favorite place in the entire world except for maybe disney world since I was 2. I am now 22 and I still love it. Trust me I'm a Disney fanatic I could probably answer any Disneyland question, I've even won tickets on the radio from a trivia contest. Anyway, one week before my surgery my boyfriend and I went to Celebrate my college graduation and his birthday. I was just wondering if anyone has gone since their surgery. I'm more interested in one year out or less. How was your experience now that you are post op? WHAT DID YOU EAT?!? Did you feel tired or run out of gas? Was staying hydrated a challenge?
  2. Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie. I'm 22 years old and I had my surgery on 7/10/13. So I'm three weeks out. I'm so glad to have found this community and I'm excited to give and receive support and advice from future and past RNY patients.

    New here, three weeks out

I'm not allowed to have any of that yet. It's kind of strange though because I go from liquids and soft foods where they stress no chunks to next week where I can have fish and vegetables and meat. I fell like I'm going on a hunger strike because I'd rather not eat than have to eat mashed potatoes again.

@karlam29 Oh im more than happy to answer questions. It's been hard but not that bad. The worst thing about post op is having to eat the same thing all the time. For me the clear liquid and full liquid diet went by pretty fast. But my doctor won't let me have Protein shakes which I think is weird because it seems like EVERYONE else on this blog can have them. Anyway I'm down to eating maybe once a day because my soft foods list is so strict. There are only 6 things on it and 4 of them I wouldn't eat if you payed me like cottage cheese and mashed hard boiled eggs. ????Yuck! So all I have left are mashed potatoes and refried Beans. Which now just the idea of having to eat them just repulses me. But it's almost over. On Wednesday I can start eating salads and ground beef and fish. Mmm so excited! ????

It's been a little hard so far. My doctors have really strict food phases. I've seen a lot of people say they are two weeks out and are eating normal food already and I'm so jealous. The worst thing has been having to eat the same thing for two weeks. I'm on the soft foods diet so I am only allowed to eat mashed hard boiled eggs (which I hate), cottage cheese (which i hate) oatmeal (which I hate) cream of wheat, refried Beans, plain Greek yogurt ( which I also hate) and mashed potatoes. I'm halfway done with my second week of soft foods and just the thought of having to eat refried beans or mashed potatoes ever again sickens me. If prefer not to eat at all then to eat mashed potatoes and refried beans. But it's almost over and then I can have salad and ground beef and actual food. ???? So excited.

  10. That's fantastic. You look wonderful. That's so encouraging for me, since I am just starting my journey.
  11. I had my surgery three weeks ago. I was 267 on surgery day. Don't be nervous. The surgery is over before you know it. All I remember after bring wheeled into the operation room is how bright and cold it was and someone said something like I'm going to give you some medication to help you relax. Then I woke up in recovery. Lol.
