Surgery in 4 days and I am in a funk

Thanks! I was kind of feeling like a loser so I'm glad you said that lol. It's surprising to me how many emotions I am going through! -
Almost at my 4 month mark

You look great!!! -
How are you guys picking your target weight? It's hard because normal weight charts are pretty much useless in this situation. I know from past experience that when you lose all this weight there is still extra weight from the loose skin. At 173 my doctor said I was done and not to lose more. That seems like such a high weight but really, I looked good at that weight! So, how do we pick a good goal? I'm guessing just set a higher weight and adjust accordingly? Ideas anyone?

Thanks. Deep down I feel confident I will be successful, it's the nagging part of me that doesn't show up. I think I just feel very alone in all this because really, I am. It's a battle I am going to have to fight I'm just feeling nervous. I'm sure I'll be fine, just feeling blah -
that makes sense to me.

I agree. I like setting my goals in my head as every five pounds so that I frequently hit my goal rather than really dwelling on the final number. It makes me feel good when I hit a goal so frequently.

Have any of you felt light headed or dizzy during your pre op diet? I feel light headed and a little nauseus. I know from my atkins days of low carbs that the nausea is normal, but light headed?

I'm probably drinking more than that. I am always thirsty and have always sipped all day long. So that part of this has been easy for me. But maybe I should up just clear water instead of so much crystal light. It's worth a shot anyway! Thanks!

I hear that! I looked pretty good at 170 really, and, my doctor said to stop. Although right now it seems a mile away, it also seems like a big number. I'm going to stick with it though for now.

Awesome results!

No I don't think it's extreme it's just not pleasant. I'm on day 7. I have felt the worst days 4-7. I dont want food at all at this point but I dont feel good. I think it is the gigantic caloric decrease. I'll tell you, this would be one reason NOT to party at the buffet up to pre op diet day!

How long does laprascopic RNY surgery normally take.

Thanks Soccermom. It was beginning to concern me. It sucks because I have a ton to do but everytime I go to get up I feel like I"m going to fall down or throw up! I guess this is what happens when your body loses 15.5 pounds in 7 days!

Unjury is the winner and thank you guys for the ideas! I do like the chocolate splendor from unjury and also the chicken soup! The chicken soup is strong but I just add more water until it's closer to broth. Thanks so much everyone!

I wonder if people are talking about how long they were gone from their family vs. actual OR time? -
Pre-op diet I think I"m going thru the same stages as death & dying!

I've found unjury shakes and they aren't bad at all. The chicken soup one is a little strong so I add more water until it is more like broth. More water can't hurt! -

I'm on day 4 of this liquid diet and I think I'm going through all the same stages of grief you go through with death and dying. A little out of order but grief all the same! First day I was like, I can do this it's no big deal because I"ll look great! hellooooo denial! Yesterday I was depressed. I just felt sad for no real apparent reason. Today I am really angry! I'm up to swearing at my shaker bottle with those damn Protein shakes lol. Wow am I in a bad mood I guess I"m grieving what I perceive to be the end of good food. -
Today is the day;)

Mine said about an hour also. Those three hour numbers were beginning to make me think my guy is taking shortcuts LOL. -
I am liking the unjury protein shakes MUCH better than what I had. The chocolate splendor really is pretty good! I certainly wouldn't drink it if I wasn't on a special diet but it's not bad and I can easily get it down.

My surgery is 8/7/13 and I started my pre-op diet yesterday. It's tough and I'm hungry but mostly I really want some diet coke. I know I can't have it after surgery but does anyone know if it's a problem in the pre-op diet? I do know we need to cut caffiene but my head is pounding from the headache. I'd prefer to allow myself just one glass a day so I can kind of wean off it. I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't, I just want a little diet coke. Yes, I know that is whiney but I can't help it lol.
