  1. I loved it! I have 2 more as a requirement for surgery but I'll probably continue to attend
  2. I have my first support group in about an hour. Don't really know what to expect... I actually feel a little anxious!!!
  3. I've gained 8 lbs since 7/12 I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy some protein shakes and substitute a couple of meals a day. Get a head start on getting rid of this extra weight. Anyone here choosing to do a pre op diet without MD requirement? If so, what are you doing? Hope everyone's is doing great! We're almost there!!!
  4. Lucky you, I already know I'm getting one so I need to make sure I'm presentable lol
  5. I'm doing what I can and having hubby double check, just in case lol
  6. Yup, definitely RNY, there's a significant number of sleeves being revised to bypass too, so what's the point, right? I just wish I'd gone with the bypass to begin with.
  7. I got the band in 08, reached goal by 2010 of 140lbs, maintained for about 7 months and had a really bad stomach bug. All the vomiting made my band slip. The doctor took all the fluid out of my band, waited a few weeks and it "unslipped"... Except every time I got close to my "sweet spot" (perfect fill amount), it would slip again. After many emergency visits I realized the band wasn't going to work for me. Now I've gained 90 out of the 130lbs I'd lost and talked myself into getting a revision. I got the process started in June and now I just can't wait to get it done! I don't encourage anyone to get the band. Out of 3 people I know who got it (including myself), 1 has had it removed due to complications and I'm in the process of getting it removed too. The 3rd person never reached goal (only halfway) and she got it a year before I did. *sorry my post is so long, I just figured I'd give you the whole shppeal since you asked lol
  8. That's awesome! I can't wait to find out my date. Hoping for the beginning of October too
  9. Believe me, I would go on a Water diet if I had to! This surgery will be a blessing in our lives, nothing is worth it getting cancelled
  10. I had to do a 2 week liquid diet before my band was put in too, but no diet for the bypass, so I just eat :/
  11. Tell me about it, I sometimes stop and try to think of what I can eat now that I won't be able to for a long time BTW, today I went for my chest X-Ray, blood work (11 tubes ), and EKG, then abd. US on the 17th and I'm all done with my pre-op testing. Soooo excited!!!!!
  12. Hello, everyone! Is anyone else eating EVERYTHING in sight??? My doc said I don't need a pre-op diet, but he might just change his mind when I see him for my pre-op visit on the 27th. I'm just so bloated from overrating... Between the up coming surgery and school starting, anxiety has gotten the best of me :/
  13. I feel the same way. Looking at an October date, but not booked yet. My doctor said probably the first week. Next month I have 8 appointments altogether but I just can't wait!!!!
