I'm sure you have lost weight, but you are still all pumped up with fluid from the hospital. Relax, and be assured that you will soon start dropping more than you can imagine.

    What ya eating tonight?

Curry seasoned chicken leg and some pan roasted leek.

Has anyone found that they stall when they are exercising more? I seem to resume weight loss when I am less active. And I'm not doing any serious workouts either, just walking and swimming occassionally.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

That is awesome!!! You give me hope that I am on track to be there too. It's hard to imagine, but in 4 months I have gone from a 34 to 26 pants, so maybe by 6 months I'll be in those 20s you put back :-)).

I have more confidence in standing up for imptomptu speaking in my Toastmasters International club, and am so excited at where this will help take me as a speaker. My body doesn't feel like my enemy anymore.

Congratulations! I hope everythinf goes well and you deliver a beautiful healthy baby. So excited for you, and hoping I get to join you whenever that time for me may be. :-)
  8. Normal, but try not to worry about how much you can eat. I stead, focus on the guidelines your surgeon set and get to know what the full feeling feels like so you learn to stop just before that. Truly, for optimal digestion, you want a bit of room left in your stomach or pouch.
  9. Yup, I will totally share. They are all in hard copy printed form right now so I have to get them to digital. Please feel free to PM me. Perhaps I can take pictures and that will work tomorrow.

    What ya eating tonight?

Leftover olive garden chicken and risotto. I love that my husband and I can split everything and I still get two meals out of that. We also make healthier choices in general. Although I'm the one who had surgery, we have both benefited from the healthy changes.

As long as you are following the guidelines set by your surgeon, you're doing just fine. It's a fact that you're going to lose at odd intervals that don't necessarily follow a set pattern. I bounced around thve 330s for 5 weeks. Just keep on going. There's no need to go back on liquids. Your body is going to drop weight as it is ready and all you can do is keep on going.

I was just wondering the same thing lately. I think it must be hormone fluctuations. There is a physical aspect to it for me (TMI: dryness).

    I cant stop having sex

I can't seem to want sex much. Maybe that's in comparison though. I expected surgery to make me want it more, but I still can't match the everyday/several times a day desires of the hubs. Maybe once I lose more and start exercising more. I'm still just 4 months out and going through the various aches and pains of a changing body shape.

    Protein shakes

I found this to be a great resource for mixing Protein Shakes from powders: http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/p/protein-shake-recipes.html?m=1
  15. Oh, and my surgeon gave me some great resources for dietary guidelines, meals, etc. I am happy to share them with you if you'd like.
  16. Some knowledge share: 1) General caloric intake the first year post op is 800-1200 calories. Different surgeons suggest slightly different ranges, but this is generally where they all meet. 2) Protein intake is suggested to be usually at 60-80+ grams per day. 3) Carbs, mixed messages on this. My nutritionist told me if I am meeting my protein and calorie guidelines, not to worry about them. They also said if I chose to not eat them they see a lot of success with that. 4) You may not be actually hungry. You may have head hunger or jist be eating out of habit. When you're hungry, try to stop for a few minutes and think about why you're hungry. Are you bored? Are you dealing with some emotional stuff? Have some Water while you think. 5) Try as much as possible to stay physically active. Even just walking, cleaning, visiting friends or family, pacing and deep thinking lol. Just keep moving. 6) It is never too late to start fresh! Yes, if you find yourself straying and losing track of your goals, you can certainly go back to that post op 2-3 week liquids diet. My nutritionist and surgeon both recommend this technique to get back on track. Good luck and don't fret. Worrying will probably just make you hungry lol. If you're feeling bad about your food choices, go for a walk and take time to reenergize and recommit to your goals. If you have a cookie today, don't have one tomorrow. Bonus tip: Sweet cravings I have found lactose free milk (since it is sweeter) gets me through. Or at least go sugar free if you have just got to have a sweet.
  17. You can have an intollerance even to whey protein isolate. Instead of soy if you're concerned about too much (kinda depends on how much you plan to supplement, ya know), try those containing egg protein. I think this is what Unjury uses, but if you go to a place like GNC or Super Supplements they can probably help you find others or the dietician/nutritionist at your surgeon's office can help. There's also vegan options like hemp, pea, spirulina, and brown rice protein out there. The natural foods section of my local grocery store carries these. You'll get a lot of mixed feedback on the effectiveness of vegan proteins here and elsewhere, so best to consult your dietician or nutritionist on these.

    What ya eating tonight?

Holidays with all that tasty food are tough! But are you sure you put on 4lbs? It might be water weight from all the salt and stuff. You would have had to have eaten 15,000 calories and that is pretty hard to do with a pouch 1/3-1/2 cup in size. Don't beat yourself up. You know how to fix it and what to do.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I was out for my evening walk and a random guy that lives in the same apartment building I do said he wasn't sure it was me and said I had lost so much weight. Pretty cool to hear from a total stranger.

    Not losing lbs

Naw, you're not failing. Some days you're just going to do better than others. But always keep in mind that protein, water, and vitamins have got to happen. Then try to get as close to your individual goals for them as possible. In the times when I just can't take another protein shake, cottage cheese helps me get to protein goal. It's easy on the pouch and relatively high protein.
