Can you tell me the name of those capsule vitamins? are they prescribed. Sounds like what I need. I need to ask around for them

Hey girls, had my RNY Dec 9 at Ochsners in New Orleans, where are you at in your journey?
-
The only bad thing is now after RNY, I had to open my Prozac capsules and mix them in water and swallow. Nasty but it's only for 6 months or 6 weeks.

WTG with your surgery! I found first night at home to be bad but since the next morning, life has been good.

What to have at home to be successful
monola replied to kespy74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have pills to take and your doctor makes you crush them a pill splitter/crusher is so worth it. I have found that miralax is a must for me. Good luck in your journey! -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
monola replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery Dec 9th and I slept on my side. I am a side sleeper but if I were a stomach sleeper I probably could after a few days. Good luck, it will all work itself out. -
The sweet taste of everything gets me also. This is day 22 of just protein shakes for me. I tried the Unjury Chicken broth and it was WAY to salty and I consider myself a salt fiend. Right now, I am drinking Nectar Pink Grapefruit. Only because in a previous life I drank Salty Dogs (grapefruit juice, gin and salt around the rim). Now a pinch of salt in the Nectar Pink Grapefruit and I can pretend. Please, can someone come up with less salty savory drinks?

December Surgeries!?!?!?

Hehe, that's what I said too, I am lucky I like some protein shakes, day 6 on 4 shakes a day and I am repulsed by them. In fact I drink them an hour and a half apart to get them over with and suck on sf tropical Popsicles the rest of the day. -
Elephant I am on a14 day 80 mg protein liquid diet. I am nauseous when I drink these protein shakes. What do you use that is over the counter to help me!

Pre-Op Creating New Habits
monola replied to teacherlady2133's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre- op diet is two weeks liquids with at least 80 grams protein. It is rough, I really never want to drink another protein drink again. Good luck with your surgery and recovery -
Can anyone tell me what the surgeries roughly cost without insurance for arms, tummy tuck, butt lift, body lift and whatever other kind of lift or tuck you can think of

December Surgeries!?!?!?
monola replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the site, I start my preop diet tomorrow and I have been having food funerals since I found out I was approved. My surgery is Dec 9th. In fact, I was waiting for a long drawn out battle with my insurance company and they approved me in 1 day. I was shocked and it was way to soon. I wanted to fight the insurance company to release my anxiety over the surgery. Good luck to you and let me know if you have found any good tasting protein drinks -
. Would you mind telling me how much you weigh and how much your doctor feels might get you out of open. My doctor says the same thing to me but he hasn't said a probable weight.
-
Oh that sounds soo good. I will try the eggplant lasagna tonight. Thanks
-
My final weigh in is this Monday. I have been on water and protein shakes since Wednesday. Not pleasant but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck with those 6 pounds, try all water and protein shakes.
-
Most doctors want you to consume 60-100g of protein daily. Since our pouch only holds so much at the beginning, protein shakes are suggested by most doctors. I eat three meals and 2 shakes a day. I will send you some links of the programs of some places it explains it all. Are you in a program or just deciding to have the surgery?

I am Pre-Op and dumping scares me. I have an extremely fast digestion and almost dump every bowel movement as it is. I wonder if I should take liquid fiber after RNY. Kinda too scared to mention to Dr., afraid he won't operate.
-
I recently read that you should eat solid foods over purée foods because being solid will fill you up more. However, aren't we supposed to chew our food close to a puréed stage before we swallow? So does it really matter in the long run whether it started as solid or purée?

Way to go Mel! I am glad to see that you follow your program, I scratch my head and wonder why people spend so much money on an operation and cheat. Like try to eat salad two months out instead of six like dr. Ordered or trying to scarf down Taco Bell two weeks out. Amazing!
-
My plan is similar. However, I plan to start replacing dinner. Followed by lunch and finally replacing breakfast with the protein shake the day I start my two week liquid 'liver shrink.'
-
I've started my Last Suppers before I even have a surgery date. Every three weeks I take a meal that I will not be able to have ever, in quantity or in a couple years very toned down and eat it. I've enjoyed a huge fried seafood platter, a six course Italian meal and pizza. It was the affirmation that 'I can live without this food and the way it's cooked and portioned' that I was most satisfied about discovering.

Maybe buy medicine cabinet stuff like miralax, stool softener, etc
