A really great team of doctors and staff, I have lost 250 pounds and have received excellent care. I recommend dr. G and his team for anyone looking for complete care before and AFTER your surgery. They are in Tijuana, Mexico. 5 minutes from the US Mexico border on the other side of San Diego. Check out his thread: Has anyone heard of dr. Francisco Gonzalez?

You stick to it and follow all that Dr. G and his staff tells you and you'll see results fairly quickly. You're right NM you start feeling a little more desire to eat, you need to get your fills in time. As soon as you feel you can eat more. You'll pick up and your body will give you the signals. It is a wonderful feeling! Its like you are reborn! My life has taken a 180 degree turn since my weight loss, I literally wake up with a smile on my face and look forward to living my great life every day. I am a FUN person to be with! Blue eyed you are so right! You need to listen to your body, like I said, you will learn the signals. My cousin just now finally decided on getting the lap band. She is obviously going to doctor G, she's just waiting for doctor V to set up a follow up doctor in her hometown cause she can't afford to be going back for the free fills with dr. G she has to be paying expensive airfares. I don't think she'll have a problem in that area. All my friends and relatives that have gone to dr. G have been set up with a fill doctor by dr. V. I don't know how they do it but you get taken care of.

I was a couple of pounds shy of 400 and my experience has been great. I would gladly go through the whole lap band surgery and initiation process again in a heartbeat. Ive lost about 250 pounds, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I've always said to myself ....why didn't I do this sooner? Tijuana is as safe or as bad as any city in the US depending on the part of town, don´t go by what the Tijuana bashers write, most of them have not even been to Tijuana. Thousands of us have gone there and not one lap band patient has had or has been a victim of any violent crime. You are about to begin a life changing experience, I want to let you know that you can count on all of us and especially me for any help I can give or any advice. Lap Band life has its ups and downs we all want to be with you in both instances. You will find out that Dr. Gonzalez is as good as we all say he is if not better. Dr. V and Laura as well as Dr. Vera, Dr.Veronica and Carmen complete the team. You are in the best of hands. If your lives change in only 50% of what mine has it will all be worth it. Janet

HELLO EVERYONE !!!! This is my first time posting, I hope Im doing it right. I have been banded for almost three years and had no idea this place existed. Well I'm a computer novice so I'm just opening my eyes to the internet! I did a search for doctor Gonzalez ( my doctor, hello doctor, wherever you are!!!!!!) and found only a few references to him and I guess because most of my friends just phone each other every so often. There's about 15 of us that met thru doctor Gonzalez office, just when we go to get fills. You know Im surprised because we all know a bunch of other patients of doctor Gonzalez, one of my friends got her lap band surgery in 1999 with doctor Gonzalez and she only gets a fill like once a year. He's always so busy, but he always has time for all of us, we love him so much. Sometimes its like a little party in his waiting room because 5 or 6 of us will meet there have a fill and then go have a lunch or brunch, they have the best buffet there, in the lobby of the medical building even though we all eat small amounts after all we wanna be thin. It is so much fun to be able to tell you guys you walk in the door of his office and he's always sitting behind his desk but gets up and greets you as soon as he sees you and that big smile just makes you feel everything is ok. He always gets it right I don't know how he does it but the fills are just right. I drive 5 hours to his office for my fills and I would drive 10 hours if I had to. I used to weigh almost 400 lbs three years ago and today I weigh 150 +- 5 lbs. Its been a great trip sometimes bumpy but great! So I guess I can answer the question, yes I have heard of doctor Gonzalez and I also know him personally. He is my doctor, HE IS THE GREATEST!
